OMG!OMG! It's the annual "thisplacehasturnedtoshitandisnotthesameanymor e" thread.
thats because the west coast is getting pounded with snow which ='s TR's are coming! :)Quote:
In other news, the lurkers are out in force this week.
I thought skiing was about, "Doing it for the internet". I guess it's kind of fun.
In 2007, everything is for the Internet.
Is there a link to the guys original post over here? I want to see the responses. TIA.
Whether he finds a partner is up to the people in CO. If they don't want to ski with him then they won't end of story. That thread on NS was pretty funny and this one too. I don't see anything wrong with the guy from his post. I guess he rubbed some people the wrong way.
anyone who takes the flame wars seriously here needs to step away from the computer & go outside for a bit.
this place is as good as any for blowing off steam, reading some great tr's, and killing time while stuck at work. it certainly motivates me to get out there 3-4 times a week.
if you want a milk and cookies, smiley faced interweb site, then go check out ttips.com
otherwise :fuckyou:
I only read the first dozen or so, but I thought the responses at NS looked pretty good. They're cool in my book.
She looks like she put on weight. Picks, I get it.
and that reminds me of
I run into Charlie Fog,
Blacked my eye and he kicked my dog,
My doggie turned to me and he said,
Let's head back to Tennessee Jed.
But so what?
Song about this thread:
dear maggots,
you're great the way you are. don't ever change.
sincerely,

I'm not too worried about being "jonged" here and I dont take much offense nor do I pay much attention to 99.9% of what people say on TGR because I've been to a few TGR premieres and I have seen just exactly what kind of mixed bag of tools I'm probably later conversing with on the internet. Alot of people on here are "johnny-come-latelys" of the highest order whether in their late teens, just getting started with freeskiing, or late 30's who just bought their first pair of fat twins and now feel certified to come on the internet with a bunch of corer-than-you attitude.
These are likely the same people asking me, "why is the tail of your ski bent?" on the lift in 1998 and didn't start showing up to TGR, PBP, MSP, L1 premieres until 2004 when it was all long-since generally accepted by the outdoor sports culture (read;EMS, REI, Boulder, CO) and they had finally purchased their first pair of Oakleys and Pocket Rockets.
Anyway, I'm sure no one will read this because no one seems to care enough to read any of the non-assholish posts I make on here.
Jongs.
Wow. I was still skiing on K2 Fours in 1998. You're my idol.
I could not be tempted away from that flashing light in the K2 Four plus it had a red, white and blue topsheet with wood effect that was very crucial. I considered twin tips a gimmick.
I'm in my early 40's.
What's the "outdoor sports culture" ? How can I get accepted by it ? How can I bent my ski's tail ? Why do I need rockets in my pockets ?
So many questions... Mitch ? Please ?
The original poster is right....that's why I typically avoid meeting people from here or anywhere else on the internet (or am very selective). 80-90% of the people are wankers who can't ski....
I have enjoyed skiing with everyone I've met on this board. If they suck you can always point your tips in the other direction and ski away into the sunset!
Steve, you're a goon. You're not cool. Really. I've seen you around K-mart and can certainly tell. Magic? Yeah...you're really going to fit in well there....rofl.
I have friends you can ski well and some that are marginal. All of them are pretty damn cool. Much better meeting people in person, than off the internet. Most of the people on the internet are pretty big dorks...:nonono2:
You're right about that dood^^^^^^Dorks are all over the internet like fish in water
I just love being in the company of people who take themselves very seriously.
Just opened this thread now.
Thanks for the x-post ... I now can carry through a very boring Friday with greater ease.
I've nothing to add except all my drin--- ... I mean skiing adventures with people off TGR has been an absolute pleasure.
