straight shots or with coke
according to my school song I take my whiskey clear like every honest fellow..... and Boulder sucks. It's a timeless song, really.
I wish I had a barrel of rum and sugar three hundred pounds,
The college bell to mix it in and clapper to stir it round.
Like every honest fellow, I take my whisky clear,
I'm a rambling wreck from Golden Tech, a helluva engineer.
A helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva engineer,
A helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva engineer,
Like every honest fellow, I take my whisky clear,
I'm a rambling wreck from Golden Tech, a helluva engineer.
And if I had a daughter, I'd dress her up in green,
I'd send her up to Boulder to Coach the football team,
But if I had a son, sir, I'll tell you what he'd do,
He'd yell "To hell with Boulder," like his daddy used to do.
wisky
well let me count the ways, goawd I cant think of a way I havnt drank wiskey
all wisky, every single fucking one, irish, scotts or kentucky is better with a bit o water.
every one they all come out of tha cask strong and have had water added to them already.
all of you that avoid water are drinking your wisky with water, just bottled with the drink water
I drink and love them all in a way that would make many of you uncomfortable.
I own single malts ( scotts wiskey) of many stripes and drink more; Cask strength, islay(peaty,) lowland, highland.
I drink it all tho i drift toward the smokey aniseptics of the islays.
all improve with a bit of water.
I keep Famous Grouse in the house
if I am out or not drinking beer at home I will mix blendeds with soda, grouse, Cutty, ,you know JB, Dewars, basic blends, all decent with soda, (club that is.)
I know plenty of scottish girls that drink their Bells (another Blend) with lemonade (7=up/sprite to you 'mericans)
When drinking irish I am a Tulmore dew fan, and powers as well
both with a bit of water
Bourbon
well I think it is an inferior imitation of the old isles.
some work
I had 2 turkey 101s tonight with a bit of water and the best wiskey AMERICA ever made in my thoughts is George T Stagg.
but that definately needs water being stoopid proof and all.
I like the Van Winkle too; see above.
I drink Crown and other canadians with ginger, but especially like rye wisky with ginger.
Old overholt is cheap and good.
12 dllar bottle of old overholt and 99 cent 2 liter of ginger ale and you got a party
wisky?
BRING IT!
gonna pour a bowmore right now at home to ruminate
if im mixing(which is rare) its Beam with Ginger.

Quote:
Old Fashioned
1 teaspoon Sugar
2 dash(es) ANGOSTURA - Aromatic Bitters
2 slice(s) Orange
2 OPIES - Cocktail Cherries With Stems
Water or Soda Water
60 ml Kentucky Bourbon
Method:
In the bottom of an old-fashioned glass, carefully muddle the sugar, Angostura, 1 orange slice, 1 cherry and a splash of water or soda. Remove the orange rind and add the bourbon, ice and, if you like, water and soda, but be careful not to drown the drink. Garnish with the remaining orange slice and cherry.
Notes:
Muddling: The mashing of fruit with herbs, sugar or liquor in the bottom of a bar mixing glass to bring the flvoour of the chosen ingredients out within the cocktail.
Origin:
The Old Fashioned was created at the Pendennis Club in Louisville, Kentucky. There are two warring camps of Old Fashioned drinkers: those who muddle the fuit and those who don't. Dale DeGroff, author of The Craft of the Cocktail, belongs to the first camp, as the muddling adds so much flavour. Others just want some sweetened whiskey, not an Old Fashioned. The 1862 Whiskey Cobbler - the Grandaddy of this drink - was shaken with two peices of orange in the bar glass, so we have history on the muddling side.
Glass Type: Old Fashioned
Garnish: ; Orange Slice & Cherry
Hey - hey...guess what? I'm going to be featured in a national ad for Lexis/Nexis. Hoo Ha!
If mediocre--rocks. Otherwise neat.
Give the ginger whiskey at Conor Bryne's a try in Ballard for all you Seattle area mags. A friend of mine runs the joint and makes a mean ginger whiskey.
Shot or straight outa the bottle... depending.
Jack & Coke is good. But never....ever......Pepsi. Only Coke.
I used to add a splash of peach schnaps in with some Jack for a shot.
Jameson over a couple cubes! Anything else should get you shot. Want to mix, see Phillips brand!
Good Luck,
Jay
