    On the rocks, occasionally an Old Fashioned. Most places can't make one though.

    I'm not really a mixed drink guy.
    Beer = .032 is not preferred
    Wine = Red = Italian and French
    Bourbon = Rocks = Maybe, a Manhattan once in a while
    Tequilla = Rocks = Shots = Maybe a 'rita, now and then
    Vodka = rarely
    Scotch = Rocks
    Rum = very rarely

    Edit = I am a big fan of those crazy drinks up: Grappa; himbeergeist; Kirsch Wasser; Williams; Enzian

    How I drink my whiskey?
    Depends what kind of mood I am in as well as the setting.

    After work or at a local joint, always on the rocks: 4 cubes to 3 fingers.
    Dinner/date is neat.

    And never mixed with soda. It's either straight or a rusty nail on the rocks, or manhattan up.

    I don't mix whiskey. Never liked it in soda, seemed to make the soda taste flat.

    A good shot or on the rocks.

    OTR, straight from flask, or if it's early and my stomach is a bit queazy then I like it mixed with a little lemonade. NEVER with any kind of cola.

    If it's good; neat, with a splash of water, or Manhattan. If it's not so good, with ginger.

    Prefer burbon over scotch. I like Burbon rocks and occasionally a burbon coke.

    just on the rocks although....if I get ahold of a sub-par bottle a dash of bitters fixes the taste of almost any crap bottle.

    Beam and coke. My weakness. Thought the ensuing hangover has me rethinking this habit.

    Neat, no rocks, definitely no water if I have my druthers. Will add a splash of water for those certain malts.

    I am a traditional bourbon drinker -- Knob Creek and Booker's are my favorite of the Jim Beam brands, but any of the more exotic stuff (e.g. Blanton's) is good bourbon. As far as 'merican whiskies go, I prefer the bourbons to the Lincoln County Process liquors like JD.

    Then there's Scotch whisky. Different tastes, but IMO they're all best straight.

    whiskey isnt really my drink anymore...kinda had an overload of it in college. but i usually embibe it either with coke, with sour or a shot/bottle tip. im not really a fan of sipping it.

    i used to drink JB or turkey almost exclusively in college. an occasional jack because thats what the housemates drank. now i drink gin and rum.....oh yeah, and vodka haha. but the vodka is shots on family events.

    Jameson, straight up.

    How come that's not an option in your poll? Or a 'NO' option.

    Yes, I mix whiskey. But only with my stomach juices, bad judgment, or a combination thereof.

    Why no poll option for no?

    Flawed poll!!!

    I drink Maker's Manhattans (perfect) so I'm mixing it with equal parts of sweet and dry vermouth. Oh...and what about Old Fashioneds?

    Flawed I say!

    Side note - Blantons' should NEVER be mixed. Drink it neat.
