I remember that article. The photos look familar. Jet Stix-classic, never had em but had friends that did. That was when the only boots out there were leather just over the ankle. 70's freestyle. Anyone ever do a worm turn? Flying Christie? I still do a tip roll once a year just to see if I still can.
Jeff
Le'me guess... Strato 102's (or 105's).Quote:

Rossignol Strato 102 Limited Edition B2 Skis
The 102 is back! Well, okay, it’s really a Rossi B2 freeride ski with a Strato 102 topsheet, but you know heads will be turning in the lift line with these classic cosmetics and new shapely lines.
In celebration of Whistler turning 40 and Blackcomb 25 this year, the Anniversary ski will look a lot more familiar to those whose ages are above that first number. So, if your heart is set on retro, better act fast, the ski has a limited edition run of 200 and comes with a card of authenticity.

I thought they were kinda ugly the first time.

I had Strato 105's-until they got stolen. Then Rossi Freestyles. I love the Wayback Machine!
I have some 102s...real ones...
Skied all through the 70's on Bessers. My dad was a big believer in the upward toe release, and Besser had it long before most other bindings.. I never broke anything (leg or bindings), but as I proggressed the pre-release became the most prominent feature.
Cool ad, thanks for the post.
Well...they do "all rook arike." But seriously, the guy said "Hi, I'm Wayne Wong." Mighta been Hank though.Quote:

That's slim. He wore that same outfit at KW on retro day.

Superior asswipe douchenozzle Tim Cohee top and center.....aside from a couple nose implants, he looks pretty much the same.

Great blast from the past... I remember that article and then trying to ski like that. I think it took ten years to break that bad habit (Not using mesc!).Quote:

My daughter was actually very excited at meeting the legendary WW!

That's Pete Totemoff in the red and gold. He was an Aleut Indian from Alaska and was Ernie Blake's right hand man at Taos for about 40 years. He was a jack of all trades who cut slopes, taught lessons, loaded and repaired lifts, sold lift tickets, skied the patrol, you name it. I used to see him there in the 70's, but he's dead now.
Based on the text, the first skier in the woods is John Schultz. I know that John Schultz was for a few years on the Mad River Glen Coop board of directors. I believe he was involved with the ski school for a number of yearsQuote:
