So, Skideeppow, are you replacing your 191s with a different size? Or was I mistaken that the only production versions were the 184, 189, and 194. Just curious since I am wondering if the production ones are as stiff as the protos or not. Curious since I still want some 194s but I highly doubt I would get to try them before I buy them.... Also curious how the flex is compared to the Team B3s I have. Too many skis, so little time.....
i have a pair of 189 in the mail from rossi. I am told they are bomber and just as stiff. I weight about 205, 511 and ski pretty hard with a vast ski racing background (fis b and some europa cup starts). This is by far the best ski u have ever owned and do not see the need for the 194. I spent about three weeks in ak last spring and had these skis upto speed and there were no stablility problems.Quote:

Good Luck!!!
If I were alpining on them, I probably wouldnt want the 194s. But for teleing, a longer ski definitely gives you additional fore/aft stability and helps make up the deficiencies of the binding. Anyway, cant wait to hear how the 191 protos and the 189 production compare. So keep us posted.
whoa, maybe the 194 will be too much ski for me. The last thing I need to do is dish out $ for these boards having not skied them only to get my ass handed to me.Quote:

Just a side note, if you are planning on replacing stock B4s/old B3s and want a similiar ski, the squads are probably not it. I have the stock old B3s in a 195 and the Team skis in a 196 (104 under foot) and they could not be more different. One of the biggest things besides the width is the lack of sidecut and then top it off with no twin and the similiar lengths dont even compare.

I am looking to replace the stock 195 B3 which I absoluely love but I was hoping for something a little stiffer and bigger.
Hopefully I can try out a pair of the squads before committing to purchase them.
So the 194's are the biggest, and they won't make 198's anymore?
I'm only asking this because mine had an encounter with a sturdy birch last weekend. They are both mangled beyond repair... :(
It's not so much the length alone as I'd be very happy with something 190-ish. I just want that really high tip profile. I haven't seen any pictures of the new squads, but the 198 cm B4's had a much longer rocker and higher tip compared to the Squad 91's I've fondled, and I really think that made it more skiable for someone like me. I think Head should give the iM103/Supermojo a similar tip profile. IMHO, more effort was required to ski those compared to the 198's even though they were a tad softer.
Super G got a pair yesterday and gave them rave reviews as of last night at the bar. Boosted a 40 footer and they held up fine! If anyone finds them, let me know. That's the XXX replacement I've been waiting for. Fuck those panty waste B4's.
Got mine today, need to go mount them up. I will let you know how they feel compared to the proto
Just mounted my 189 squads. Insane. Stiffer than the proto, wider (104 vs 100) and look super clean.
These are better than anything I anticipated. Unf$%*n belieivable!!!!
I have a feeling I'm going to get my ass handed to me by these skis... But that's not necessarily a bad thing. :FIREdevilQuote:

But, that is my preference, because of my weight and the way I ski, i love having something solid under my foot. We are expecting foot tonight(i will believe it when i see it) so i wil head out on them. Will let you know.
This would be a must for the bird and alta!!!!!!!!
Enjoy your two feet tomorrow and Mon!!!!
You do realize that we can't hang out anymore as soon as you start skiing the 89 right? :smile:Quote:

They look good, and were surprisingly light for how stiff they were. Supposedly the smaller sizes (184 and below) are softer and a bit narrower - 101 instead of 104 underfoot. I'm sure I'll see some soon.
