It is a continuum. You may prefer the terms "Wellington", "Roper" or "Western Styled Work Boots". But literally, if you are gonna kick shit, you don't want laces. For me, as a trim carpenter, one the finished floors are in the house, its inside shoes only. I wear boots to work and the change my shoes.
Altras, Vans, Ariats, Reefs....thats it. Find shoes you like that make your feet feel good.
Now if Rev would post a pic of his boots, we can help him accessorize with the proper bedazzled jeans and bolos.
I tried Ariats but they seemed to constantly pull my socks down. Justin’s and Tony’s have been my go to. That being said I wouldn’t mind a pair of fancy boy Texan boots.Quote:

1. Dress up Western - lets say you gotta go before the County Commissioner's in say Grand, Gunnison or Jackson Counties, what are you gonna wear? Suit? Get fucked. Some sort of business casual getup with slacks, what about the shoes? If you just go clean jean, boots with the shit washed off, and a shirt (pearl snaps optional), you are good.
2. Cowboyin', Ranchin', Rodeoin'...they are all related but all different. Dress accordingly, footwear included.
3. Hats and belts...this is wear you get to add your own flair. Go crazy son!

I have a decent sized Alta belt buckle that gets a lot of use.
