If you can get heat pads top and bottom of your cassettes and go to 150 degrees at 70 psi, Mulletizer, you can pop them out of the press in 30 minutes. The resin will totaly liquify to water consistency, filling all voids, then snap hard within a minute. I've been wondering how you were doing on that project.

Vacuum or preasure press?

Preasure press you only need to maintain prasure, don't need much power when you are up to preasure

Vacuume - Ok lots if you are using preasure and venturi affect, but why not use fridge motors as vacume pumps...run 2 or 3 in series for reliability sake....you can get them for free from you local council dump!....these also only have to work to maintain vaccume. Just wire them up to your vacume gauge and run them when the preasure drops.

Use a pressure switch to make sure it remains constant and you can go have a coffee...

Vacuum Bagging generally works ok for snowboard construction because your working with a large surface area---with ski's; unless your cores are pre-cambered and tip spacers etc. are preshaped ,your not going to get enough pressure (1 atm. max) to make (shit) much of a ski! -----
also, you would be able to buy a full dream quiver every year for a atleast a few years with the cost involved in making one pair of decent ski's esp. if your starting from ground zero! :cool:

WALLY skis are vacuum bagged. And they rock the backseat pow like nothin you seen.

That's how Head started making skis. There was a link to an article about him here somewhere.

At sea level, atmospheric pressure is equal to 1013.25 millibars (1.01325 bar) or 14.7 pounds per square inch., In a vacuum bag (with no leaks)a 'full vacuum' is -1 bar, you do the math!----I'm pretty sure Splat would not be a "happy camper" if his press was only putting out about 15 psi during a press cycle ;)

If Wally is "actually" building their own ski's you sure they are'nt using an autoclave? (basically a vacuum bag inside of a pressure cooker)

Sorry but it's German. For around 1000 Euros they will produce a custom snowboard to the specs you tell them. Really everything gets decided by you if you want it.
Nearly half of the alpine snowboard worldcup uses Kessler or Tomahawk (italy).
Their machine can produce nice 2*titanal, glassfibre, true sandwich skies too. Your choice of wood, poplar,..... if you pay a bit more. Great quality.

I do not know if their price is for every stick, or if they give out 2 skis for the price of one snowboard. Best Alpine racing Boards on earth!!!! 50 percent of the podiums were on Kessler, many more but branded with another factory.
