Based on what I've read from Splat's and the DB guy's postings, I think the tutorial goes something like this:
    1) get a lot of money together
    2) research the shit out of the specs
    3) go thru a lot of pain lining up some manfacturing
    4) go thru a rediculous amount of pain making a run or two on schedule
    5) test the shit out of it, tweak design
    6) repeat 4 and 5
    7) ship some bad ass skis
    8) stress all day and night over your commitments
    9) repeat 4 thru 8.

I dunno. While I give Splat, DB and any other visionary small company two thumbs (or paws) up for what they are doing, it sounds WAYYY to painful for a slacker like me

Till April 18th? well I gaurentee that is not enough time to succesfully build your first pair of skis. especially if you are planing on making a pair of skis that will actually work.

You could just cut some bigger existing skis and make them into your own...change the shape, repaint the top sheet, blah blah blah and no one will ever know

Although the router setup shown will work, it's taking enough of a bite out of the wood on the thin end of the core to split it. Multiple passes there help ensure it not splitting.

Very true. Building your own brand is basically just a hella expensive way to get a free pair of skis.

    Yeah, Splat.
Would you please fax me your technical drawings, production manual and full financials?

Didn't Mulletizer build himself a pair of skis last year?

This is still an ongoing project. The official excuse is that I need a more powerful compressor in order to power the press; my one would burn out very fast at the intensity needed - and it needs to run for >7 hours. A bud has a better one (and an engineering masters) and him and I are going to make the fockers this summer. Maybe.
