The ravens were just finishing off a breakfast of 3 chicks, 8 ducklings and 2 turkey poults. I really didn't feel bad for them.
If you had ever had a cute fuzzy little packrat living in your carport you would want it dead too. They create big mess and stink worse than a skunk. Not as strong as a skunk but more foul.

I had a passel of rats dining at my bird feeding station, which is situated on the edge of a ravine. Totally pissed me off 'cuz I knew it meant I'd have to quite feeding the birds......but....lo and behold one day I'm sitting on my couch reading when I see a flash go by the window.....I rush out to see two hawks taking care of my rat problem.Quote:

It is nice but sometimes it doesn't happen. Laste winter I had a packrat in the wood pile & eventually my dogs got it. The problem was that it was eventually and not soon enough. He nibbled the wiring on my lawn mower, Filled the engine compartment of the lawn mower with sticks & dog food and generally made a mess for me to deal with. In the spring I was finding little hidden messes all over the place. So when the opportunity arose for me to take care of nature I took it.
Generally, I love animals. They taste great. ;)
