Trump thread? Florida thread? It's a melange of stupid:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jO2XAlR_uA
Don't think that didn't occur to me. Some kids are not as easy as others. Now they're grown-up and can't always hit the toilet. Time for them to move out.
Heads up if you live in CT, VT, DE, HI or RI - If you go to Florida bring your passport because your state issued ID is now invalid. This also means you can't legally drive a car there. https://www.mychamplainvalley.com/ne...mont-licenses/
Surprised CA isn't included.
That law would appear to violate the US Constitution, Article IV. "Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State." A driver's license would appear to be a public record.
It's a little more nuanced https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/...n-law/3066073/
That said, fuck DeSantis.
Yeah nuanced but it's still up to the person presenting the potentially invalid license to prove they are a legal citizen. That means you need a federally issued ID, IOW a passport. How many people travel around this country with their passport? I never have, have you? How else can a person prove their identity and citizenship?
In reading that article, it doesn't seem like any of the IDs mentioned were actually driver's licenses. They mention ID only cards and learners permits. But I may be mistaken.
CA has been issuing “Real IDs” for a few years now as have other states that are federally recognized just like passports. So that’s one way besides a passport
Back in the olden days, to prove both you have to hand over a DL and a SS card or birth certificate
CA still issues the “regular” licenses and I’m pretty sure undocumented people here can get one, so I’m kind of surprised he didn’t put the Golden State on his list as well
Mass is doing the "real id" too, I thought everywhere was? My understanding is that in a couple years everyone will need one to board a domestic flight or enter a federal building. I guess driving in FL should be added to that list
They’ve moved the deadline a couple of times. I think the current date for everyone needing RealID or a passport to fly is 2025
Pffft, like anyone is going to FL. :the_finge
Yeah--it sounds like in those states the default license is a real ID license and they have other licenses for people who have not documented their citizenship or legal immigrant status. CA still issues non real ID licenses to undocumented people and also to people who just don't want to bother to go to the DMV in person to renew. The CA Real IDs are easy enough to identify but I guess DeSantis figured it would be too hard for FL cops to figure out. Which is probably right. I still submit that under the Full Faith and Credit clause if someone is legally allowed to drive in one state they should be legally allowed to drive as tourists in any state. But if they move to the state then they have to renew under the new state's laws.
Anyway, like a lot of the FL BS this law has little practical effect--the only people who are going to be applying for federal benefits, which is the only reason besides driving that most people have to show a license, are FL residents. So the law really would affect undocumented immigrants from driving to Disneyland from any of the named states.
This is alll covered in my new podcast--Constitutional Law for Dummies, by Dummies.
My VT driver's license is both Real ID compliant AND an enhanced Driver's License, meaning it's good to enter federal facilities, use on airplanes, etc, AND cross the land borders with Canada and Mexico. It has the star icon and the American flag icon indicating said statuses. I had to submit proof of citizenship to get the damn thing. I have used it a whole bunch of times to travel between Canada and the US from VT, ME, and NY, including twice in the past week. How the fuck can the ass clowns in FL say that's not a valid DL???
Maybe actually read what IDs are invalid. Yours is valid in Florida, if you want to visit that shit hole state.

Flight was heading to FL:
Even by YT standards the comments are insane. Solid majority of people saying she clearly saw a shapeshifter/skinwalker/demon/etc. and that they have seen such things themselves. Quite a few people asserting that she reportedly saw this "not real" person's eyes blink sideways.
Holy fuck those comments are insane. Hundreds of people legit talking about Shape Shifters, Lizard People, demons, etc.. All the comments about eyes that blink sideways. JFC our society is doomed.

It’s okay now to showcase your ignorance and stupidity, it’s a source of pride if you will

Thanks guys. I purposely refrained from saying “make sure to read the comments”.

“When men choose not to believe in God, they do not thereafter believe in nothing, they then become capable of believing in anything.” GK Chesterton. Of course believing in god is just as crazy as all that other shit, but whatever.
Yet another reminder to avoid Florida: https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/13/us/fl...ens/index.html
I keep having evil thoughts about a FLA sinkhole, Trump and DeSantis...........
That said, that incident is one I've never been able to forget. Can't imaine the horrors that man sees at night when he closes his eyes.
Meanwhile..... ain't it great that FLA did away with abortion?

We need to build a wall around Florida. To keep Florida in Florida.
Meh, couple more years and it will be leveled by hurricanes and underwater
