Yes and I have holiday guests arriving tomorrow but I eat a heck of a lot of it myself. Nice having a fast metabolism this time of year. :D

Freakin' porch pirates! Every night on the news there is some new report - just makes my blood boil! Did you see the one that was a seasonal UPS driver and his buddies? He would make deliveries and then call his buddies who would follow behind him and steal the packages.
Nice that a lot of cities are using decoy packages to catch these people but still they are so brazen. What a bunch of lowlifes.
KQ, this one should be right up your alley. Looking to get the wife some work wear for working in the yard, canvas pants and a vest. Stick with Carhartt or go fancy with something like Patagonia?

Two years ago, I paired that book with:

I just putting good pair of socks and fancy treats in the stockings, but I brought them to the shop a week or so ago and hung them up and people have been adding to them, so I worked put well.
Boys feel appreciated.
Not to over step our hostess but I recently found White Elephant gifts on ammerzon. Some really funny stuff like the 2019 calender of dogs pooping or those coffee cups with witty sayings on them.
Personally I like Carhartt but then I live on a farm and work with livestock. Where I at Carhartt is practically a uniform. People have "nice going to town Carhartt" then they have the stuff they work in. LOL!
If you don't think Carhartt is going to be her style or too utilitarian I'd suggest looking at Duluth Trading. If you do 2-day delivery today (or 1 tomorrow) they say it will get there by Christmas. I love Duluth! Their long tail shirts are wonderful for a tall person like me - hate having my lower back exposed when I bend over to work. Their stuff wears like iron but is more stylish than Carhartt. I their sizes run true with many options on length. Best off all their customer service is second to none.
2hrs left for 2nd day delivery! as of 10:20am PST

Santa KQ - what is your opinion of the Apple iWatch?
Oh dear.... I am NOT an Apple person at all. I can tell you that those I know that use Apple products love them.
Here's a question for you: Does this person you are thinking of buying for currently wear a watch? Do you think they would? Funny.... just yesterday when I saw and ad on TV for a watch I wondered to myself how many people still wear them since we now all have phone that tell us the time. Now I understand the iWatch is much more than a watch but what I'm getting at is would they like/mind having it on their wrist?
I did a little poking around on the net for iWatch info and found this - maybe it will help you with your decision:

I have to say... reading through some of that stuff it seems pretty cool.
What do you do when your spouse goes out and buys themselves the gift you already bought them and is already wrapped up under the tree? Asking for a friend..
What he said
No...no..... I might be inclined to wrap it and put it under the tree anyway to teach her a lesson. The least she could have done is bought it and hid it in a closet in case Santa didn't come through. I'm assuming she thought maybe it would sell out and she wouldn't get it at all which is why she jumped the gun still.... you shouldn't be the one to suffer the consequences and have to find another gift.
I'm guessing the solution to this problem is going to come down to how you feel about it.
Will you feel bad that you didn't get her something else? Can you deal with it turning into a lesson? Will it ruin your holiday either by you feeling bad or her getting upset and being grumpy all day? It's quite possible it will give you both a good laugh and you can chalk it up to being a funny family story.
Of course there is always the possibility that two of this item is not a bad thing. I can't tell you how many times I'd wished I bought a second of something I really liked because when I was ready for another the item was no longer available.
How did you learn it was already under the tree?
I bought the gift, wrapped it up, put it under the tree. Couple days later she comes home with something very similar. Mine is much better. I scolded her for shopping for herself right before Christmas.. Been a longstanding family rule not to do that. Then I went ahead and told her to open it up since she couldn't wait a week. Got her something different now, also wrapped and under the tree. Better be something damned good for me there now...
So can you offer advice for what to get a woman that isnt my wife? We have been corresponding over the internet for more than 15 years and had dinner a few times. She lives in the PNW, really into wine and horses....
Likes to ski
Depends on the lady's sense of humor. My 2 cents. I got off easy this year, I think. She wanted a pitching wedge to replace the one she lost and it should arrive USPS today. She wanted a head cover for her driver to replace the one she lost so I got her TWO of them. Got it all used off of eBay. I'm going to surprise her with a new toaster as she mentioned wanting one.
Love what you do here KQ
Your good humor and enduring friendship are so much more than enough. Was just thinking about that fab dinner at Gotham and those incredible Manhattans with the port stewed cherries oh so many years ago..................
Merry Christmas and a very happy 2019 to you and yours!
LOL!!! So all's well that ends well?

KQ what would you suggest for a slightly suicidal Oregon farmer with anger issues, nasty political beliefs, bad teeth and a drinking problem?
$200 on a Sears gift card to burn before it isn't worth the plastic it's printed on. Shopping 'spree' for the whole family? We could use a new dryer or fridge however I am not thrilled to gamble on the warranty. New pillows and sheets? Power tools?
I don't expect Sears to be around much longer. I will swoop in when they liquidate our local store. At that point the deals are worth not caring about warranties. I witnessed a Sears store in NH in late October that was mid liquidation and it was a sight to behold.
I suppose I could hang on to my card untill then. Worried about not getting my $200. It was part of a reward deal on something I bought this fall.
Well... 'tis the season for good will to men and no one wants to be a Scrooge so I'll take the route of Scrooge's nephew and wish the old bugger a Merry Christmas despite it all. For as Fred says: "he doesn't hurt anyone with his behavior but himself."
You can shop online still.
Our Sears closed down about 5 years ago and as you said... it was a sight to see. Kinda depressing. Oddly, about a year later they opened a new smaller version that only sold appliances, tools and lawn care items.
Stock up on craftsman stuff.

The Sears Home Stores probably- franchised operation (and like they used to have in smaller towns that were not big enough for a full sized Sears store years back when they had the Catalog to order from.. Our Sears closed also and all but 1 KMart (were 4 at the height of their retail) then 3 for a number of years...
