Really? I was thinking how quiet the board has been this year not just with Christmas but I never saw a Hanukkah thread either.

Did some last minute online shopping today from King Arthur Flour. Had to go 2-day shipping. Only $10 more - suppose I deserve getting dinged having waited so long but I was hoping something would come back in stock.

Still a few things to pick up locally but the important stuff is done.

Baking has started in earnest! Muffins and pie today, gingerbread and Chex mix tomorrow then Rulach and jam thumbprints. Finally there will be Parker House rolls then I can kick back and relax (kinda).

KQ gave me the best present idea ever last year (Eddie Bauer house cardigan), and I've just mined other suggestions in this thread for a couple of birthdays and anniversaries as well.

I've read through the product descriptions and I would say it doesn't look like they do. If you are going to go into a store you might confirm this with a salesperson but like I said... doesn't look like it is something they use. Their scrubs use salt/sugar/minerals/charcoal.

50% off @ EB right now. They have several versions of the sleep cardigan now. Still LOVE mine!

House really smells like Christmas now - pumpkin pie and molasses bran muffins w/dried tart cherries. So good! I use duck eggs in my muffins for added richness.

It's been a very been a time since I've had a young boy on my Christmas shopping list.

That book is great! Heard that today is the last day for standard shipping from Amazon if you want it by Christmas.

Thank you! Got a cart full of stuff.
Side question: Anybody use those Amazon lockers? Are they preferable to keep things safe? Shipped before without an issue, but these pirate peeps are getting more mainstream. Their porch is pretty close and open to the street.

Ask the recipients. My dad made us sign for a Xmas package this year, if he asked me beforehand I would have said deliver to my work, now we have to pick up from the post office because we missed the delivery. Lockers don’t seem a pain though, you could pick up at any time of day, right?

Yes and I have holiday guests arriving tomorrow but I eat a heck of a lot of it myself. Nice having a fast metabolism this time of year.

Freakin' porch pirates! Every night on the news there is some new report - just makes my blood boil! Did you see the one that was a seasonal UPS driver and his buddies? He would make deliveries and then call his buddies who would follow behind him and steal the packages.

Nice that a lot of cities are using decoy packages to catch these people but still they are so brazen. What a bunch of lowlifes.

KQ, this one should be right up your alley. Looking to get the wife some work wear for working in the yard, canvas pants and a vest. Stick with Carhartt or go fancy with something like Patagonia?

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.
