Hey all. Apparently I signed up a while ago, but never got around to posting... but this place looks fun  After living in NJ most of my life, and being a long time Killingtonite I finally made it out west where the real snow is! I ski & snowboard, and I think I'll probably be getting even more obsessed with snow sports now.
I like to ski. Hailing from MN and living in CO. Ski Winter Park mostly.
Good info. to know...
What's up maggots,
Lurking for years have posted before under previous names. Back on this board.
A little about myself. Been in Denver for a while, before that lived in SW Colorado. Originally from Chi Town (years and years ago).
Been on Tele since 1996 and have never looked back. Ski the Jane and Copper but mix it up as well.
Good to be on this board!
What up all,
Guess this is supposed to be where I say been lurking years, never posted, yada yada ya. You get the drill.
Been exploring the wonder that are the mountains of Colorado for the better part of two decades by foot, snowshoe, sled, board, and yes even my fair share of straight post-holing. Ready to reach out and explore a bit more of North America. Hoping to get some good info off the site. Got trips planned to UT, WY, MT, AK over the next year or so. Also looking to hit up parts of Canada eh.
Looking forward to participating in all the "intellectually stimulating" conversations I have been reading for so long.
Hello TGR,
Been lurking here for some time ... have been on newschoolers for a long time but it is not really my scene as I barely ever ride a park and prefer tit deep powder. I live in Abbotsford BC and consider Baker my home mountain, have been getting into the slack country around there since mid last season but am looking forward to some more and hopefully getting a touring setup when i get the money. Pray we get snow soon ...
YO!- living in Grand Junction,Co ...skiied the aspen area last season till the girl made me move over this spring (was living in Redstone, but she is from Marble so it works out well)...always looking for Marble area backcountry folks, and silverton area as well..I am a welder by trade and specailize in aluminum and stainless steel. Always looking to make a pedal (mountain bikes ) and hike for turns..
Cheers - Ryan
Get to bed-East Coast-Meet you at the first chair at 8:30. I'm the guy with the Obermeyer one piece and the mono-ski...Lovin' the Eighties!
Hey. I'm new here. I tour around Northern BC. I'm moving west from Prince George (touring the Caribous, MacGregors, and Rockies to the Terrace BC, Shames Mtn, and the Coast range.
Fun fun.
Whats up mags. Been lurking for far too long now, and finally decided to post. I like to ski, ride my bike and take long walks on the beach. I also enjoy classy cheap american beers.
First Post!
...No Wait, what? Shit, nevermind I'm on the 30th page...
Hiya sukkas. Been lingering around, reading the forums for a while and just decided to join the community. [welcome me with a smack across the face and a tasty local brew plz]
Anyway, I work at a ski/bike shop in Cherry Hill, NJ as a lease/rental fag and amateur boot fitter (i know my place) and have worked there for 3 years now. I work directly under the past VP of Tecnica, so I'd say it's a reputable shop. :D
I know this is mainly a (mid)Westy forum, but I come out there as much as I can afford to. I prefer to ski in/on some sick pow-pow but it's hard to find around where I'm at.
Bleh, whatever... Time for my first real thread... peas out!
Hey all. I'm in Yewtah, and have been for twenty something years. Grew up skiing at The Bird and the 'Tude. Worked in a ski shop in Park City for a bunch of years, then got another job and a family. My wife and I quit skiing when our daughter was born. Stupid. Getting back into it this year and looking forward to it. I can't believe I stayed away so long. :o Never again.
Hello, i have spent my life skiing in the east and occasional trips out west. East was mainly restricted to southern Vermont and local hills; last year i dragged the family up to Jay for a deep late march storm that redefined eastern skiing for all of us.
Taos, Crested Butte, Telluride, Whistler, Snowbird/Alta are some of my other favorite places to ski.
I hope to make good use of the next couple years to move closer to the mountains, ski more, and hike/skin for turns.
Um, I suppose one could always just post in the thread without reading it:
:wink::wink::wink:
I used to be a member here years ago but don't use my old email anymore so have no clue what my old log in/password was. Been lurking for a bit and figured I might as well start a new name over here.
Well, here goes my jong'd out intro to the forums... HOWDY!
I have been lurking for exactly one day after discovering this forum by someone posting a link from biglines.com... Man I thought that forum was decent until I found you guys. The activity here makes all other sites look like ghost towns.
I think it's safe to say that I am hooked. Currently living in Banff AB and it's cold as balls here lately, but hope to have some action when it "warms up" to -15 in the coming week.
CHEERS,
Your latest JONG'd out powder-addict.
Grew up in Golden, CO. Remember when I-70 was a ghost town and Berthod Pass had the best sloppy joes for a buck fity. Live in Bozeman now...20 min. to Bridger. Plenty of time inbounds. Looking to connect with a few folks to help me learn the mtn. better. Cheers.
Time for my first post.. my name's Adam, I've been lurking here for a while and decided it was finally time to actually start contributing. I'm living in Virginia now so I don't ski nearly as much as I'd like but I am able to get in a few trips here or there. Hoping to make a job transition out to Colorado or Utah in the near future but for now I'm stuck in ski-free zone trying to make the most of it.
For the Maggots.
Damnit, how am I supposed to compete with that?
Long time lurker, finaly decided to come clean and become a maggot. Along with the many hours of entertainment this board has given me it has also been a great source of obscure knowledge, norse legendry, asshattery and jongism's. I can only hope to keep up with the truely inspired antics of the rest of you maggots, or at least keep from being flamed.
Good, now show us yer tits.
Long time lurker. Lived in Switzerland and reignited my love for the mountains, but now I'm living in LA...
This place is much better than my fishing forums.
Guess I should follow the rules:
36yrs old. Been skiing since the age of 3. Been Monoskiing for the past 15yrs. Been drinkin heavy for all of em. I listen to death and black metal. Every thing else is shit. I drive fast cars. I hate the Prius. Ted Nugent for President.
Thank you. Goodnight.
Scott
Forgot to mention that I'm a Stevens Pass whore. Often seen in the parking lot drinkin' Double Bastards.
Living in Cape Cod doesn't offer many skiing opportunities but hey, what can you do. Usually skiing the East, Stowe, Jay, Smuggs, Bush, Cannon. Make it out West at least once a year - Jackson in 2.5 weeks baby - SLC and Montana mainly. Been snowboarding for 20+ years, yes I still have my first Burton Air and Simms Switchblade. This place rocks, psyched to get at it.
Hey all,
Time to jump in.
Ember
much as i recoil from anything that tempts me to spend another second of my life in front of a computer, i feel it more or less mandatory to join this forum now that i have discovered it.
i'm not addicted... i could stop any time, y'know? i just, uh, like a little powder every now and then. it's purely recreational. really.
anyone wanna do some lines with me?
Just signed up. Tons of great information here.
Been a skier since 3, now onto tele. Never been out west(to ski), maybe next year. Getting away from the lifts for the first time this year, had anticipated little return/reward and I was wrong. Already met a couple mags early this season, and looking forward to popping many bags of popcorn?
Been lurking since the genesis of the maggots but never registered because (i) I knew if I went down that rabbit hole I'd never be the same, (ii) over the past 15 years my skiing status has steadily regressed from core to near gaper as my family/work status has steadily risen from lazy dirt bag to Norman Rockwell, and (iii) I'm not as funny, stupid, brilliant or just plain fucking crazy as the rest of you maggots, which means my registering would just be diluting the maggot gene pool.
The chronicles of Jesse James, however, have motivated me to finally grow a set and stop anonymously leaching off this forum without contributing so much as a troll post. So from now on, I'm going to conspicuously and brazenly leach off this forum without contributing so much as a troll post. Unbelievable job on Jesse guys. Even if he never gets caught - hopefully he'll think twice before his next scam.
yeh i been lurking for a while and never wanted to join because i didnt want to be another guy sucking the TEETon gravity dick. also, i totally associate this board with west coast and im trying to keep the east coast/west coast rivalry up.
anyway, ill mostly stay in the EC forums. maybe read some gear reviews. ill post some shit when i got shit to post. tr, gear, pron. yeh yeh.
been skiing about 3 years. with a hunger. several trips out west. tripped to the andes. tripped to the alps. canadia constantly. but i keep coming back to the northeast. our trees are the shit. sap suckers know whats up.
do as you will till you violate the line of another.
proud to be a newbie magg...after lurking for a couple of weeks i'm all in. Sort of addicted to adrenaline...my kids forced me back to the powder 2 years ago after a 15 year hiatus from snow sports....can't get enough now.
Hey y'all. Been living in the middle of the Pacific for the last 5 years, now back on the mainland ready to ski.
Um, I noticed in the EULA that I just accepted that I can't post with regards to "sexual orientation". Does this mean I can't say I like girls?
