Has anyone received any emails from any VT ski resorts -- alpine or nordic, although special bonus points for Stowe alpine -- explicitly stating that masks will be REQUIRED when skiing (i.e., "skiing" as in actually, you know, like, skiing, not riding a lift, or waiting in line, or hanging out in the base area, or entering the lodge).
The VT ski resort "mandatory guidance" released yesterday simply references the statewide mask rule, which in turn specifically cites "where it is not possible to maintain a physical distance of at least six feet" and further specifies "Nothing in this Order or any other State health and safety guidance shall require the use of a mask or cloth facial covering when someone is engaged in strenuous exercise or activity [...]"
I also quickly checked out the Stowe website, which still has the standard Vail text:
"Do I have to wear a face covering while I’m skiing and snowboarding?
While face coverings are not required during the physical acts of skiing and snowboarding if the guest is maintaining proper physical distance and is not in the vicinity of others, it is recommended guests do so. Otherwise, face coverings are required in every part of our operation, including while loading and riding on chairlifts and in gondolas, inside all buildings, and during all ski and snowboard lessons."
