I’ve skied the 182 C tour about 15-20 days in the BC this winter for my guide job at our yurt in Montana.
IMO, they handle everything well, except for very tight, steep trees.
The longer turn radius is noticeable in tighter noodling situations, but most of the time I’m quite happy with this ski.
I’ve been driving them with a Dynafit Radical Pro and Superlite bindings.
I’m 6’ and 210lbs with gear. Usually ski a 188 or 190cm ski, but the 182 commander has nearly the same effective edge as larger, more heavily rockered skis.
I’ve paired them with Pomoca skins and they don’t feel heavy. Not sure I’d want to go much lighter unless it was a long traverse type situation.

Mount point is -8, compared to the commander -10 and WC/DW -6. I think I could get along really well with this in whatever the longer size will be, 182 is just a hair short for me. Didn’t feel quite as poppy as my dw and wildcats do, but, only got two runs.

I’ve been on WC 108’s as my go to for the past 4 years or however long ago they first came out. Anyway, took out my new Commander 98’s this morning and found them way less demanding than I expected. Definitely a higher speed limit but very intuitive and versatile skis. I’m a fan.
First day on my 188 Commander 108s as well and agree with what you said about the 98s. Not nearly as demanding as I expected. Unfortunately it was a groomer/dust on crust kind of day, but these were the best carving 105mm+ skis I've ever been on. Lean into the boot and they take off like a rocket. Was getting over 60mph regularly and easily while staying composed. Not as damp as an LP or QLab, but felt great. As I said to Bandit Man, these are the spiritual successor of the QLab. Looking forward to getting them out in better snow later this week. Also looking at the Commander 98 to fill the narrower slot in the quiver.Quote:

For anyone East of the Mississippi curious about all things Moment, Fire On The Mountain in Dover, NH has been selling Moment's for a couple of seasons so far. They have demos of the following models: Deathwish 104, Wildcat 101 and Commander 98. Not a lot of options in the East to check these out in person so wanted to pass this along. They also stock Wildcat and Deathwish Tour models and Hot Mess and Bella Tour for the ladies. Of course, plenty of binding options to go with the skis from Pivots to ATK.
