From CPU, double click the quote button to get the correct quote posted
Also when typing, enter two paragraph returns to get one
Also from CPU: paste links that have numbers in them — somehow it works in the web browser but won’t in the app
From TGR app: edit for text formatting: paragraph returns, etc
Do not quote any post with numbers in it from IOS app or get the emojisauce
In order to quote with the app, delete the post number from the quote tag. Leave the poster’s name and the semicolon after the name but delete the number that follows. It will at least cite the quoted poster by name.
Random discoveries and workarounds…
Ironically I found that from a PC web browser I could get “clean posts” by going into Source Code mode, but then removing all HTML symbols, click post, et voila.

Fuck me — I’ve been on skis five days this season, four of them on or before Jan one. So much work it’s insane & I have no idea when I can get a break or whether it will just crater with a shitty economy. Kid comes home in a week and I’m still fighting to figure out how to get some days with him. Ullr, save me!

Another fatality in C.O.. Down at Mt Bailey. Not the cat operation. Victim succumbed to fatal injuries. Horrible.
Tap, my condolences if you were impacted, know the folks involved etc. It’s especially tough coming on the heels of the Skersjaa accident.
Both the Statesman Journal and CO Daily reported that it was through the cat operation. My understanding is that it’s operated through the Diamond Lake Resort but that SWS out of Shasta are the guides and handle terrain / group management?

I watched my friend die in a D2.5 avalanche on Pucker Face outside of Jackson 11 years ago (he was buried 6 feet deep); I haven’t written off the BC yet but I sure as heck have changed my approach. When my kids are older and it’s less of a burden for one parent to handle both of them for 3 days at a time, I have a dream of getting an instructor training certification and teaching Avy classes out at Santiam Pass.
And shits gonna get a lot more sketchy in the next few days with big snowfall and rising temps.

An upside down and warming setup may have been the key Avalanche problem in the Happy Valley accident.
This last Thursday was cold blower from what I could tell; today had strong sun exposure warming during storm breaks and then 32F at pass elevations late in the day with warm wet snow falling in the afternoon.
Damn impressive storm.
21” at Hoodoo in 24 hours - I’ve never seen their automated weather station pick up that much. I doubt Crater / Backside traverse opens today.
WP got 17” and is on delayed opening. I doubt P2 can spin before noon, won’t be surprised if they just don’t open it today.

EPA has been running on the WP cams for a while, I wonder if the steep trees there have been awesome!
Power problems plague MHM again. Super slow & crowded with only MHX, SSX & HRX rolling (ignoring the beginner zones).
I actually walked out from SSX today, which isn’t too terrible, but nevertheless wasn’t my preferred mode of transport.

Highway 58 closed from Oakridge to Crescent Junction this afternoon!
Bachelor was deep. On the heavier side of things. I rolled into the parking lot around 10:25 or so and Pine Marten wasn't spinning yet. Did a lap off Skyliner and then over to Pine to catch the opening. Lots of people taking headers and digging out. Helped a woman get unstuck on a flat section. She was clearly struggling. Tomorrow could be good if they get OBX going. I would think NWX might take a while
I heard similar reports at WP of people literally calling ski patrol from the middle of runs because they just could not get going again.
Maybe time for minimum width requirements on days like this [emoji1787]

What a great late season storm! Was the last rider on Cascade chair and the staff were saying today was most likely the last day they will run it for the season due to a confluence of issues and the fact that they are already winding it down for the season. Glad I got as many Cascade laps in as I did this season
