Yeah, decades. Not that long. Totally was not a normal thing when I was a kid. Back then (the 80s), I remember it being something you'd check into when your chiropractor or acupuncturist referred to it. Same circles of people. Now it's seeing widespread adoption and as normal, Western medical practicioners are acting like they came up with it.

Being that they called it a "fringe idea," I don't think it's as modern and western as you act like. There's a ton more articles if you look it up, referring to it as things like East meets West and generally talking about how we're FINALLY getting around to seeing it more accepted. We are constantly fighting the pill pushing industry, so there will still be quite a bit of both ideals. Again, it doesn't have to be one way or the other. Certainly tons of great cases for traditional pharmaceuticals, not denying that.
Which is awesome! I'm so glad to see the idea gaining traction.
