Kidding aside I've always disliked it when people say that they have "conquered" a mountain.

I think young 20 something year olds are generally self absorbed and it isn't a generational thing, it's just an age thing. I mean. look at the IG posts from some of these kids, there's like a novel on each post about their recent self reflection discovery!

I think it's just a different time where they can easily throw it all out there for the public to see and then they get instantly rewarded with likes and comments which is validating this behavior. Social media really has brought on the age of GNARCISSISM for outdoor adventure sports.

I miss the days when somebody like Mickael Descheneaux could be sponsored, show up in a few movies stoned out of his gourd for half a segment, all while skiing maybe 5-10 days a year. Now everybody's gotta be woke and mindful at all times while letting the world know via social media. Gimme a break.
