An HB (gold or black) is an SBR. An SBR is an AR pistol (or an actual pistol with a stock added to shoulder(dumb)) that somebody paid $200 to the gov for the privilege to own without ambiguity. He participated in those industry events over the decades and is reporting his observations FWIW. I read a long post last year from another gun industry guy bemoaning the same trend. Maybe these guys are just imagining things. My grandfather subscribed to mainstream gun mags in the 90s, and I just remember a hunting and self protection vibe, but maybe I’m imagining things.
