Unfat Part Deux?
I'm in.
Since after the knee-OP I have gained ~3 kg.... And now weight ~74-76 kg, for my whopping heigth of 174 cm. The good thing is that, I'm beginning to be OK for all sorts of sports... so hopefully I can be back on track and reach my target of 68-70 kg... Before ski season starts.
as of this morning, im 162 even. i still have about a week in my own deadline, but i dont know if i can lose the 7#'s that i set as my goal for that. oh well...i cant say im disappointed in my performance. i feel a WHOLE lot better and none of my pants fit anymore. haha everything is so loose.
good job everyone!! this thread was a huge motivator for me, even though i joined in late and unofficially. thank you for the support!
I didn't really participate in the challange.... but I weighed myself this morning and I lost 20lbs since December!!!! I'm super stoked about it. I am 210 now, and would like to be about 195 by November/December. I was 195 in high school.
Mrryde... :yourock: Nice job!!!! Keep at it 'ol boy!
Put on 2 lbs. since last weigh in. I've been real steady for 2 months now and I'm happy with that because I know I can maintain the loss living with the changes I've made now.
Started at 199 and I'm at 177 now. I still want to lose another 20 or so though so I'm totally up for another challenge. I fell off with tracking my food online with a few big changes in my life lately so I'd like to get that going again and get a bit more exercise in.
Great thread though, great job everyone.
oh ya, Congrats tief! where do I send the $20? paypal account?
Bump, cause I set up a paypal account. My email is skicoachjohn at gmail dot com.
$20 headed your way tief schnee. Congratulations!
Thanks for getting this whole thing off the ground snow slider. If you guys do a part 2, I will have to sit out as losing any more weight would be unhealthy, but I'll put $20 in to sweeten the pot.
ok here's the fun part -
time to call out people who don't pay up..
how many have you gotten?
So far 3, no call outs yet. Thanks for setting up the spreadsheet Steve, and you did quite well too.
Bump before this gets personal, you know who you are.
In case folks forgot that they agreed to the money part, here is a list of the maggots who said they wanted to take part after we decided to pay $ to the winner:

Thanks for posting the list. I am one of the slackers.
Tief, email sent.
You earned the cash. Post pics soon wearing your new smaller clothes.
actualy i think my name should be on that list too. im pay-pal adverse however and would prefer to send a check.
pm sent.
I didn't sign up to pay the winner cause I was a casual partcipant but if you say so SS, I'll pay!
I'll have to have DTM send it, so look for something from him, tief. Nice job.
I thought I signed up as non-money, but either way it's no big deal.
people who signed up as non-money don't have to pay.
that's what the last column in the spreadsheet was for. "casual"=non-money. i tried to make that clear, but people weren't getting it.
Snowslider is just trying to extort money from us for another lawn mower attachment.
:D
72Twenty and Altachick, amongst others, are in the clear. Let your conscionse and the spreadsheet be your guide.
You know how I love my attachments....
Sorry to those of you who didn't sign up for the money part. I read back through the posts and just listed names of folks who said they were in after we decided to pay the winner. I guess I should have read the post more carefully.
...and yes, I was one of the ones who didn't "get it" about that final column in the spreadsheet. My bad.
"daddy is that you?"
"yes"
"then why do you have that big thing on your mouth?"

"I used to be fat. I still am, but I used to be, too!"
right now I've got a big push to hit 250 by T-giving. It's been slow because my discipline has been shit. I'm pretty much at the same place I was at the end of the unfat challenge - 285.
So when are we having unfat part deux?
-steve
Wow I completely stopped checking this thread and dropped out! :)
I think I got fatter over Ironman training... but still did an Ironman so whatever... all of you unfatties can all kiss my IMass.
I'll pay up, I guess I owe someone $$? Where do I send it?
Lets do it
10/1 to 12/31 - its a nice challenge to keep us in line during the holidays.
Can't we just have a nice, short, monthlong challenge?
You can count me in for this one. Failed miserably on my last attempt and actually ended up gaining weight over the past 6 months. Now the wedding is over and I'll finally have time to focus on getting my ass back into shape. I need to drop 20-30 pounds before ski season really kicks in so I'd be down for the 10/1-12/31 dates.
Steve, you are starting to look hot! 35 lbs to pure sizzle. Git er dun!!! :yourock:
I have been reading a lot about calorie restriction. It's basically the only means yet proven scientifically to extend the quality and quantity of life. Here's a recent article: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/hea...,4355565.story
I think I'm on board with this. Staying under 2000 calories per day. Trying to figure out how to get down to 1500 for the long term.
Right now now I weigh 127 with a BMI around 19.5. I would like to get my BMI to 18, with a steady body fat at 10%. I guess I would weigh around 120. Just ordered a tanita scale that measure body fat with impedance...
YES! Missed this one the first time around.
I need to lose 10-15 lbs. I was 5'8" and 125lbs. Since I was confined to a cubicle for the last year, I have gained 20 lbs. I needed to gain a bit of weight, but not THAT much.
I have one month before my final dress fitting. I need to lose at least 10 lbs. and tone a few areas. The real challenge is that I need to do it while we are on the road.
split the difference. lets do it 'til thanksgiving
Part of the contest should include a weigh-in a couple months after the official end date. Losing weight ain't much use if you just put it back on again.
I was going to weigh into this thread early on but I didn't own a scale and thought it rather pointless because of that fact. In early August Mrs. Beaver came home with a lovely piece of spring loaded weighing apparatus. I stepped on and confirmed my feeling that I could stand to dump some weight. I'm 6'1" (and a little) and compressed the spring to 208 lbs (or thereabouts depending on the day and time). So I figured time to do something about it. Just by happenstance I had lots of time to play in August so I rode my ass off so to speak. That combined with limiting beer intake to approx 3/week I dropped 12 lbs with ease in about 2 weeks. Then I went on vacation for a couple weeks in late August/early September and the barley consumption increased thereby eliminating further losses. Last week I got serious about it again and have dropped to 193 lbs as of this morning. My goal was 188 but I have revised that to 185 just as a nice round number. I am now finding it harder to shed poundage now that the days are shorter and I'm not getting out on my bike as much as I was. I've reduced my food consumption but have no idea how many calories I eat per day. I still hit the chocolate stash for a few pieces of dark high quality imported chocolate more or less daily (I'm an addict and don't want to stop) but I forgo the constant snacking that I used to do. I am surprised at the difference in energy shedding a few pounds can make.
i just looked at a few more pictures from that day.
fuuuuck..
