    The Unfat Challenge.

NoHills and I decided to make a weight loss challenge and see if anybody else is interested. We thought body weight and body fat% would be the best two criteria to go by.

I'm not really sure the best method for this challenge or what we should put up at stake as a prize. Maybe most weight/bodyfat lost in ratio to current weight/bodyfat.

We could do weekly weigh-ins. At the end of a pre-determined period of time, whoever has lost the most wins.

    Who's interested?

I could be down, however dropping 10lbs in the past 3 weeks (and only being at like 12 lbs over my heaviest during the last 10 years when i was training for a marathon) will probably make it difficult for me. How long are you planning on running this for?

    sure, i'm in.
i'd rather do body fat than weight though. i've been lifting a lot lately and i tend to pack on muscle when i lift.

Does it count if I've got a head start? I've lost ~22 lbs since the beginning of November, about another 10 to go.

The bonus side to losing weight is that 15 year old girls will refer to you as a "total babe." (which is what it's all about isn't it?)
Yep, seen this before. Crazy liquor & cheeseburger party got out of control.

totally down for this. competition gets me really motivated.

i have a bioelectric impedance meter.. but no accurate way to get my weight (no access to a balance sale, and most bathroom scales don't go over 300 lbs). the meter takes weight as an input.. so I can't really use it until i'm under 300, or I visit a doctor's office and use their balance scale..

but I started last week.. and I'm estimating I was between 330 and 340.

Goal date for weight is July 1, 2007.

I have an April 1 goal of 10 pounds, by July 1 I want to lose 20 pounds total, and drop my body fat percentage 15%.

I need to drop some lbs!!!...Fast! I like the body fat measurements as well but it's tough AND can be expensive to get those measurement for most of us on a weekly basis.

I need to drop some weight.

No target weight, but I've got some extra around the middle that I want to tone up. Not fat really, just untoned mass with no definition in the abs.

I just lost 8lbs in the past few weeks since I stopped eating processed sugar or anything with trans fat in it. I haven't been doing anything different exercise wise- I ski almost every day, that's pretty much it.

I'm at 138lbs right now. I don't care so much about what I weigh, more about body fat %

We just did this challenge at work...I named it the Backcountry Biggest Loser...we each put in $5. We did it for two months only. The winner at my work lost 18 lbs and 6% body fat, it was so cool to see that and head up this thing.

I'd be in on this. I'd still like to lose a bit more. I'm already down 40, a bit more couldn't hurt, right?!

How long is this going for again?

I'd possibly be down, though more interested in inches and / or body fat. Also trying to maintain and / or gain muscle weight....

I'm in. Will I get credit for the pounds of trout I catch this season?

Actually, wading the river in current is VERY good exercise.

We did this at work one year and the best criteria to use was body weight % lost. If you just use straight body weight it gives an advantage to bigger/heavier people. 150lbs to 135 loss of 15lbs is 10% where 220lbs to 200 loss of 20lbs is 9.1%
