I can’t believe I rode by you, the crowds are getting out of hand!

If the crowds are a bunch of families with little
kids buzzing around on the pump track, I think it’s great. I loved the picnic blankets and seeing parents teaching the kids how to take turns.
Doremite and I said afterwards how we
didn’t feel like we saw a ton of people while riding, particularly for what an amazing November day it was.
Richmond is clearly a hot bed and I’m sure to someone that lives there is must seem like an invasion. Having lived in a mountain town for many years, I understand that feeling.
Awesome. We can show you around this winter, too. Lots of fun stuff nearby.

That ribbon of manmade looks great. 70º yesterday bob, another day of high 60's today, hard to believe same time last week there was a blizzard here.
Called Killington to ask a few questions on their reservation system. On potential opening, the lady I spoke to went as far as to say they have not set an opening day yet - the 14th is definitely not in the cards, and given challenging weather forecast and need for multiple ways T2B, we are looking at much later in the month.
looks like killington got lucky with the covid delay of the women slalom.... this ain't optimal snowmaking weather coming up.
Skiing last week and spending a couple days at STAB this week for the wife’s bday... ain’t half bad... what a life here in VT.
X marks the spot!

Don't know how Sunapee can possibly make their 11/25 opening date.
Tried getting back out on the water yesterday morning. Glass. Boat wouldn't start (first time this year). Drank some coffee and went home.
First world motherfucking problems.

Vermont has updated Out of State travel restrictions. Vt is now requiring mandatory quarantine for all travelers into the state.

They also mentioned that they’re going to start having plain-clothes officers back out and checking on businesses to confirm compliance with state requirements. Repeat offenders will be referred to the AG. This is specifically for businesses and not individuals and the examples they gave were lodging and restaurants but I couldn’t help but wonder if they would be applying it to ski areas also.
You’re still allowed to quarantine at home.
Quote:
If you plan to travel to Vermont in a personal vehicle (including a rental vehicle or private plane), you may complete either a 14-day quarantine or a 7-day quarantine followed by a negative PCR test in your home state and enter Vermont without further quarantine restrictions. Continue to quarantine until you travel to Vermont.
This is why we can’t have nice things.
BC is going to be a shotshow this winter.

This "change" affects only the residents of, let's see here, the two counties of -- drum roll please -- Fulton NY & Aroostock ME.
Otherwise, even without the "change": 99.98% of the U.S. population outside of VT would be restricted from quarantine-free leisure travel to VT.
(As would 83% of the population of VT were the criterion applied internally.)
I rode my MTB over Mt Cushman on sunday. Stick season is great for riding like this, views over the whole ridge. New skis and bindings being mounted by gear exchange currently. Shifts on tracers, first time buying new skis and not just being a dirtbag using old clapped out garbage.
The main change is now anyone that is traveling here no longer has to check to see if they can without quarantine, they need to quarantine. It also makes it easier for restaurants, hotels, Inns, and guest houses to tell potential guests the requirements for coming into the state, they need to quarantine. The other interesting part is that the state will now employ state police, local officials, and the liquor stores to remind out of state guests of the regulations and the need to quarantine. It also opens the door, albeit open slightly, for the possibility of charging repeat offenders both in state and out of state for not adhering to these measures.
Does the above suck? Yes!
Will it hurt businesses? Yes!
But the people resoundingly elected Scott to guide the state through this pandemic and as of yet he and his administration have done a pretty decent job.
I hope the resorts in all the states stay busy, both to keep people working and to (perhaps more) to keep people out of my syrup chugging stashes.
