Took a low angle lap behind the house. Desperately trying to stay awake and flip my clock. It was pretty deep on top of a crusty layer. Still lots of twigs down low. Totally worth it.

Snow basin Patrol is Amateur? How?
Cirque opening was delayed due to a dud explosive. Just curious, anybody know how they deal with that? I can't figure it out.
Sir heady is a know-nothing dipshit. Pay no mind.
Snow held up well under the cold Temps and moderate wind. Yesterdays easterly up-slope wind on the pc Ridgeline affected the very top but mid-thigh deep once you got half way down.

Update on KSL:
Two skiers — a brother and a sister — were sent to hospitals after an in-bounds avalanche at Snowbasin ski resort Sunday afternoon, according to the Weber County Sheriff's Office.
The sister, who is 23 years old, was buried under about 4 to 5 feet of snow for an estimated 5 to 10 minutes, said Sgt. Terance Lavely.
People skiing nearby saw the avalanche and took note where they last saw the woman. They began digging immediately and the woman was located by ski patrol, Lavely said. Once she was recovered, she was flown to a hospital. She suffered only sore muscles, Lavely said.
The woman's 35-year-old brother rode out the avalanche but broke a rib and had sore muscles. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance, Lavely said.
The incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. in the No Name area of the resort.
Whoa chill y’all I was asking a question. I have no idea about their avy mitigation protocol .

I was hiking on fire road at base and heard copter and saw ambulances coming up. Hope they heal up ok.
Strong stoke on this page! Looks like it there may be close to enough coverage now to make the trip west. Good Christ do I miss the Wasatch. I'll be back, and fuck, I'll even deal with the smog compared to the bullshit here.

Haha thanks man! We'll just call it a temporarily permanent move; Who knows where we'll be in a Couple years, but first I have to head back east for now and start a family and prepare to raise a little ripper.
Would love to ski with ya, (I'll have a stowe pass) or bring your bike and we can overland the hell out of vt. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...53c3ca2f56.jpg

This ski instructor is losing his job.
Just to add to the stoke, the shoulder was DEEP yesterday. Best powder turns I've had in quite a while.
Afterwards, it took me a while to figure out how I got so much snow in my bibs...turns out I forgot to close my thigh vents before dropping in.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...68224c1752.jpg

Classic move. Lots of fun cross loaded pillows along the vertical e ridges that you can ski top to bottom.
It's Settled a bit today. Still good though.
Big Cottonwood quick hitters got hammered by weekend warriors. Every aspect and open face was basically tracked out.

Despite that, we found some untracked lines, and damn the powder is still cold and blower. Hit west-facing glades - still have to watch out for logs though. One more good storm and this miiiiight feel like normal. Exit out of Bear Trap was... spikey.
Attachment 221942
Did not see any avalanche signs. Not even on the big stuff across canyon.
Definitely the coldest tour of the season so far...
cold day, snow still great. w facing BCC ~10k’ was killer, and snowing at a decent rate down to ~7500’ when I left around 2.
^ no doubt. great turns in mill d this morning, didn't see anyone until after 10. stoked to hear the girl is going to be alright. sweet picts abound. mtnbiker/boarder, when are you heading out?

nice day in the hood, snow still skiing great too. wish we had some more coming though... :frown:
No dogs in LCC? Wtf is that shit? Fucked up my whole plan
Ummm thats the SL Valleys drinking water. If they let all dogs up there tons of valley tards would have their pups up there shitting and pissing all over the place. Have to have a special permit to have a pup up there. Maybe if its a legit service dog, and surely an avie dog is allowed, but otherwise leave the mutt home.
What are they not filtering it or something? My water comes from tahoe; half of norcal has pissed in it and I feel fine
Not trying to second guess people who surely know more than me, but what's different about LCC?
The population of SLC...whats the population of Tahoe? every damned person and their mother would bring their pups up there in spring and summer...tons of great hiking, but its a watershed...There would just be too many dogs for the watershed to handle.

BIG, HUGE population difference.
significant wind transport above 9500' BCC, many wind slabs / some cracking
Utah avy is reporting a slide on the PC Ridgeline . Caught carried. Successful airbag deployment.
mobile update
Funny. I know it's totally illegal, but does that sign at the canyon bottom say horses too? Thought it was just dogs. 60 seconds or less..Marshall saw the trailer and was en route immediately. Some people eh?
As above I also heard about the PC Ridgeline slide. Lucky skier. Straining through those trees must've been scary.

Pointy Peak again, right? You'd think there would be more self restraint around there with the death two years ago.
Glad to hear the person is okay.
