I’m disappointed squirrels are out of question.
We were heading to some really creepy direction.
Bummer.
Am I going to regret getting this? https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-...b7b5dce8c60e14
One for my wife and one for my father in law.

There some really fucked up people out there...
And a poor squirrel running around missing two hands [emoji53]
Is that store in Jackson still open that used to have all the weird taxidermy with squirrels and raccoons? The gift for the special person that has everything - like the avid outdoors man....

Hey KQ, Mrs. Seano and I have agreed to exchange experiences this Christmas, not physical items.....So she tells me something like a wine country tour would be cool, but holy grapes those things are big $$$$$..... Now, there's a pretty cool local vineyard close by that offers private memberships, which includes 2 free bottles of wine/month, free tastings for 2 anytime, etc etc.....Thoughts? Here's the linky:

My wife got one of these from a friend of hers a few years ago. I thought it was cheesy when she first got it. But it looks really cool glowing in the garden after the sun goes down.

There are others for different relations.
No, I don't think it was that one, but I think I know which store that is...LOL! It was the one that either had the bison out front or next to it I think. Somewhere I have a picture of stuffed raccoons in a boat - a la Washington crossing the Potomac.
I would have to agree with KQ, the tail would be a must!
Carry on....
I gave these as a gift a couple years ago and thought they were really cute.

Never knew squirrels were this deeply embedded in our lives.
I've always been ahead of the trend. That garden paver would be a good gift for her January birthday. I could make one and embed tokens of our relationship. Ladybug, squirrel paws, .22 rifle bullet, 1980 Olympic pin........
you mean this place?

What!!!!! You mean that haven't sold the hunting and fishing squirrels yet!
Yep, that's the place! They are such statement pieces!Attachment 218334

Wine country tours- all depends on how you do it, expectations and the region. In our area you could do a wine tour on probably on next to nothing. Get a pair of bicycles and the map of the half a dozen wineries all within a short riding distance and maybe a purchase of the favorites you taste at a few of the places. Or you could do a driving tour (just have a designated driver, or Taxi, Uber or similar for a few hours if you are going to go overboard on the tasting). Now a full Limo and very nice 5 star dinner and some other ways sure you would be adding to the experience and the costs.

I have a glowing ball on a stake that is really beautiful. It's kind of like this:

Gazing balls can be really beautiful when combined with the right planting:

Another thought for a gardener is a bird bath or bird feeders. You can get very fancy with both.
A basalt bird bath is the ultimate. At my old house on the west side I had one that was 5ft in diameter. Had to be placed with a crane. I miss that thing. I have a much smaller one here.

Only have a minute as she got up at 4:30 to get 2 grandkids to school and then drove 150 miles for another grand kids birthday tea party. And she's going into holiday panic mode. I'll be busy. Now that I recall, there was that other time that I was on a golf trip 2000 miles away and when she came down in the morning there was a squirrel sitting on the kitchen table. She chased it into the basement, shut the door, and had to live with it all day and overnight while it tore the place apart. Not a good memory for her. She loves to read. Has 2 Kindles. Likes them for the large print capability. Later.

Some books I've loved in my lifetime:
Marjorie Morningstar
The Living
Breaking Blue
Fool on the Hill: A Novel
Milagro Beanfield War Movie doesn't come close to comparing to this wonder book. This is a trilogy but you can stop at the first one and not miss the rest.
Owning Jolene
Have not read but heard they are good:
The Martian
Artemis: A Novel
Yay! She will be most happy! I love buying little stocking gifts.

What is a bottle of wine is good for after you retire?
About a half an hour.
So the Mrs sent me an email with 3 gift options. I'm supposed to pick one to get her so it's a surprise. A dozen golf balls or one of these books. "Trees of Green Lake" and "What Tree is That?". About $45 dollars if I buy them all. Today I'm leaning toward garden cart. A nice 4 wheeler @ $150. I'd get the books too. We have about 400 golf balls and you can get them for free under bushes at any golf course.
Might I suggest you pick her up some wine to go with that? Elegante Cellars is a recent favorite of mine.
Of course you can't go wrong with Walla Walla Vintners or Five Star Cellars or Va Piano or Beresan or Long Shadows or Tero Estates or àMaurice..... or.....
Some good reads and silly games here: https://www.basbleu.com/
Doh. Or maybe duh. ;)
I look in Costco first, local liquor store second as those are the best prices. I typically don't go for a domestic wine unless I know it very well. Most of them give me a headache.
Getting wine that we both like is a trick. She drinks cheap wine. She claims she doesn't want to get used to the expensive stuff. However, I can't stand her go-to wines. So I have to find good wine with a cheap sticker price. Louis-Jadot wines often fit that bill. And they remind her dad of when he hitchhiked in France following WW2. So that's a bonus.
