    KQ,
I ordered some scarves from VIDA back when you posted the link and haven't heard anything regarding shipping etc. I even tried emailing and no response. How long do they take to ship?

So looking through the thread I've done a jacket, knife, Jewelry and a shovel. About how much does a tattoo cost?

You could get a decent tattoo that isn't too big for a couple hundred bucks

Reviewing their site it looks like their shipping times aren't as speedy as some. Did you get a confirmation email?

You can contact them M-F from 9a-5p PST @ 1877.529.8432

This time of year things can get crazy so I'd suggest giving them a call to make sure everything is moving along with your order as it should be. Just last night I got a "your item has shipped!" email from Williams Sonoma that had the item shipping to the wrong address. Took me close to an hour to get it sorted out. I don't usually open those emails but I'm glad I did this time!

how about a subscription to Inked magazine so they can research their own and you could add a card that says you'll foot the bill or give some money towards the tattoo?

Saw this on the news last night. Maybe it has something to do with the delay in your delivery:

My daughter and son in law are all inked up so local knowledge is available. Now that I recall from the jewelry/jacket fiasco that you helped me with last year and my wife's NEED for it to be a surprise, a tat presents major logistical problems. Maybe this will help. Any female input appreciated. The first gift I ever gave her was the tail of a squirrel that I had shot. She remembers, but not fondly. I still think it was a cool gift. She's never owned a mink coat. I bought her a diamond once and she sold it to go on a road trip through Ireland with her 90 y o mom. Master Gardener. On the road volunteering, coffee klatching and grandmaing a bunch. The birthday present snow shoes she wanted sit unused (knee). I asked her what she wanted for Christmas and she just stared at me. Help.

I never received a squirrel tail as a gift.
I wouldn’t know how I feel about it until I get one.
    One to remember for sure.

    How about the rest squirrel?
Maybe that’s what she’s been waiting for all these years.

Loving any input Nutmeg. I searched Harry & David for squirrel and didn't get any hits. I thought I might find a Smoked Squirrel with truffles and pickled pears basket. Anyway, I related the squirrel tail tale more as an indication of my ineptitude in gifting matters. How about this. The wife is still pissed at me for giving away here bicycle wheeled garden cart when we moved to the moutains. Is it a gift if you buy someone a replacement for something of theirs that you gave away? You can't make this stuff up. help. Think north of the Catskills.

Sounds like you guys are really from Mars and Venus.

An ordinary wife won't sell her gifted diamond from her husband to go on a road trip through Ireland with her 90 year old mom, either.
You two are match made in heaven! lol

How about a really nice bird feeder?
    Since she's a master gardener.

Ok. We need to deep six the squirrels. We were 15 and I think I need take the game to a new level. Replacing something that you basically stole from the person seems to lack a Merry Christmas vibe. Robe is a maybe. I always wanted to give her one of those. She gave me a real nice one that belonged to the dead husband of one of her lady friends and has "Ritz Carlton Laguna Meguel" embroidered on it. Great robe but it creeps her out if I wear it. Don't give up on me. Don't panic either. I have 16 shopping days left and I'm way ahead of usual just by thinking about it.

    LOL!!! Okay... no squirrels.

There is a HUGE discussion about robes up-thread. That one NMC posted is from there - it is an Ugg brand.

How much of a gift do you want to give/does she want? Are you big gift givers? Is it more the thought that counts? Would she enjoy an experience rather than a physical item? Do you want one gift or a couple little gifts?

You said she is a master gardener so what about something connected to that? I assume she probably has books galore but does she have a nice garden bench to sit on to enjoy the fruits of her labors and rest her knee? What about other garden art? I got a FAB Buddha head last year. I just love him! A spinner maybe? or a Gazing ball? Maybe a planned trip together to some gardens?

Have you looked here? Gardener's Supply

Also, I would assume someone who gardens is in need of some good hand cream so I'll throw this out there again:

Origins Make A Difference Rejuvenating Hand Treatment

Edit/Add: I gave this last year. Seems like a funny gift but the person wanted it and I have to say it's beautiful. Purchased the small one and it is more than big enough for a 75-100ft hose.

    Lifetime Garden Hose Rack

The above site, Garrett Wade, has some awesome and unusual gardening tools.
