Actually worse, Massachusetts bro. Pburg and Georgetown lake rock. I apologize for my bitching. I’ll go back into hiding now.
I never said I had it bad.

Is bend really a ski town? I'd rather own a home in Helena.
Look, Yahoo Finance has us all covered. Sitting at the top spot in their list of the 5 most affordable ski towns is Boone, Iowa. /thread

Ha! Saw that. I just remember that last thread like this I posted a pic of a meth shack with overturned cars in anaconda and soon after the thread got deleted.

Deer Lodge finally makes the cut.
They left out the prison.
Screw the west. The crowds are moving west---the powder is moving east. Come to Lononderry, VT and experience run after run of faceshots on some of the east coast's least crowded slopes. And on those days where mother nature is being a little bitch, some of the best snowmaking in the world will step up to slap her in the face like Will Smith at the Oscars.

I dunno, I grew up spending half the year at a little ski lake in the Midwest that pumped out a bunch of regional and national champs over the years. The place really embodied the water ski vibe and I guess you could say it’s a weird culture, but so are most cultures that are built around recreational activities. No stranger or that much different than snow skiers IMO, much like the race scene in the mountains.
There’s no lifties to berate in waterskiing

I skied Boone this fall on my Indypass with my daughter. It wasn't bottomless untracked pow but it was better than nothing and even faces away from the sun.
Lots of Trump stickers in the parking lot provided the anti-stoke, but that is also a tell-tale sign of cheap housing nearby.

You are asking the wrong question... It's not where to ski pow... it's when to ski pow.
And the answer to that question is Weekdays. Not Weekends...
Added a hot New Jersey babe to more accurately depict the situation.

My island is 26 miles from lift-served skiing. So it’s not “literally impossible”.

Is there anywhere on earth you can enjoy tropical beach weather and drive a few hours to lift served “good” skiing?
There was a day in 2009 when I skied powder in the morning at Alpental and then flew to Hawaii and swam in the ocean (daytime). Pretty amazing day other than the 5hr flight.

maybe not pow but If the weather lines up you could spring ski grouse/ cypress/ seymour in the AM and hit the beach in Vancover for the afternoon
How thick of a wetsuit would I need to enjoy “tropical” Vancouver beaches?
Any west coaster can go to the beach and ski within a few hours. I’m talking swimmable warm water.
Is there a volcanic peak in Mexico with ski lifts?

The Mediterranean isn’t really tropical
