That skeleton vid is just fucking ridiculous. I'm not a follower, but I can't believe that so many made those runs. Just look at the aftermath. I can't believe any organization would allow the competition to continue. Wow.

Skeleton World Cup at LP. Through technique and technology, the Euros had figured out ways to go faster at the time and were kicking our ass. They paid a price for the podium at that venue. Even the US team could only take a few practice runs a week so as to heal. Strategic foot dragging was part of the learning curve at that track.
