Yeah. Everyone approaches the game different. Super athletic people tend to have a harder time at first, then get better faster later. Fat short dudes can often play really well...but don't progress much out of their own fat shadow compared to amateur athletic dudes.
My younger brother, a former Marine, plays with a 4 iron off every tee. He hits it 250 every time, straight. If he has 180 in, he hits 4 iron, choked down. He made a hole in one, 1/4 swing 4 iron, 175 downhill.
Scoring is the hardest. Hitting the ball far, or straight will get easier. Scoring is all about being creative.....Not being right. 4Matic is retarded.
My day yesterday.....first 4 holes...keeping up with the mini-tour dude I was playing with....not in length ( dude hits it 345 every fucking time). next 12 holes shitty, like really shitty, but making putts to save par, last couple holes, lots of nice shots heard from the gallery. 7200+ yards, lots of water, lots of OB, lots of native grass......
