I both lines were used on pow days; If youre coming from downhill that line will then be shorter and if youre coming from uphill, you can then skate downhill to the other line if its shorter. Better system in every way.

The lift system at wildcat is intentionally impractical and illogical, just so everyone can line up in one line together like little ducks in a row, and anyone who doesnt go out of their way just to adopt the more restrictive than neccesary social norm is viewed as an asshole.
