Just watched Episode 1. I thought it was pretty good, and Clarkson does look a bit healthier. I had to turn my VPN off to watch it, first time I've run across that.
James May’s teeth looked black?

Thought it was pretty good. My wife actually watched the whole thing, too, and had a few laughs, which is different. In the past, she’d wander off somewhere else when I’d watch it. She wasn’t quite prepared for the “Hammond’s got an erection” line, though.
That belly is impressive. Great episode.
Now this...
looks more like it.
hits prime at 4pm Thursday
Can't wait for this one. The Bolivia off roading episode was by far my favorite Top Gear ever, looking forward to round 2.
Aside from a few laugh out loud moments.. it really didn't live up to the potential hinted at in the trailer. Maybe the second part will redeem it?
According to Grand Tour instagram, Part 2 contains scenes that donkey enthusiasts may find disturbing!
Sure that wasn’t pt 1?
finally watched them both, definitely part 1!:fmicon:

It was entertaining. Better than most of their recent two part specials, probably on par with the 'Find the source of the Nile' special. Hopefully this bodes well that they've found their mojo again.
The look on Clarkson's face when he was asking about the donkey situation was fantastic. He was trying so hard to hold it together. And the oh shit moment on the volcano when the weather broke loose.
Pt 2 Colombia was pretty good.
I know enough Spanish to be dangerous. The locals (probably) weren't actors and you didn't have to wait for the translation. Watching the clip above, I probably laughed more at the locals answering his questions than at Jezza. Maybe the couple of beers I drank helped out as well. Either way I was entertained.
And yes, Columbian donkey sex is a normal thing. They consider it practice for the kids so they know what they're doing when they get married. The things you learn in construction.
That belly. It’s mesmerizing!
I thought he was genuinely upset by the donkey sex. Which was kinda humorous in its own way. I thought Part 1 was good over all, I enjoyed it at least. Yeah some of it was pretty stupid, no doubt. That first bridge was sketchy as fuck, I'm pretty sure Hammond wasn't acting when he said he felt like he was gonna puke. Looking forward to Part 2 tonight.
I enjoined James May throwing a brick at Jeremy.
The soccer game section gave an idea of the large support crew required to do this show. All the repairs and modifications that happen off camera must be impressive/expensive.
Latest episode with modernized Lancie Integrale and Stratos and May's 917 feature was pretty damn good.
Mongolia special season finale was one for the ages... brilliant stuff.
True, I’d dig seeing a segment where she gets to voice an opinion or bring a fourth car to a three car shoot out. But considering where they came from with the Stig being a faceless driver with no opinion, to the American. I think they are slowly changing with the times, even if they won’t admit it. I think her role in the sea to sea film was progression in that direction. From the few interviews I have seen she seems pretty happy with the job. Her line racing the Porsches on the lake. “I’ve raced some dick in my day, but never on one” made me cringe and hope it was her idea and not something they scripted for her.
- I am here for the stoke
I'm not too sure they'll give Abby too much voice while she's still a sponsored driver out in the racing world. There's a lot of potential conflict of interest there and losing sponsors wouldn't be worth it to her. IIRC, the trio made a gag of it a while back in the Top Gear days with one of the F-1 drivers trying to put down a fast lap on the track in his sponsor's rival (I fell like it was Schumacher, can't recall if it was ferrari or porche), and he was going just abysmally slow. It was good for a one time gag, but that was it.
I thought they did this back during the top gear days as well, but that's the shtick
One of the things I think that went downhill earlier in the season was their focus on the good 'ol USA.
Nothing wrong (well more to the point who wants to make a list of what is wrong) with USA - but one thing I liked about the old BBC version is that it felt well - foreign, British. The great bulk of what we get is just so American - it stood out. The Mongolia episode was a nice reprieve. - no jeep, no monster truck, no pretending to like the mustang
I always thought they had a solid take on the Mustang, given they are brits and don’t really see the connection between Mustangs and white trash that most Americans do.
Last episode is a bit of tear jerker
your father had a cortina!
