I saw a crazy thing this past summer, where someone took a solid chunk of log (not hollow), and cut a "hub and spoke" pattern in the top (a cut end) with a chainsaw, about 12 inches deep, and then stuck kindling in the "hub" to get things going. Once the fire was going, it basically burned out the middle of the log, and then burned down the middle. It worked really well.
I'll have about 20 gallons worth, but can easily get more if we need it. 15 gallons is a standard (1/2 barrel, approx 150 beers) keg, so if we've only got 30-40 people, that may be close. I can easily grab another sixtel (another 50-ish beers), unless someone else has plans to bring other beer.
