The aerial combat scenes are amazing, especially considering when it was made. A lot of the scenes were reused as-is in later films including the 1938 remake. There are also some pretty convincing special effects involving large explosions that I had a hard time believing were done using scale models, if that was how it was done. Very realistic, although I know they probably didn’t actually blow up a train yard or supply depot for the film.

Had a guy in his 30's--juvenile diabetic, kidney failure, lost both his legs to gangrene--who used to drive his motorized scooter down the halls at high speed.
