Yeah I found out Hammy won before I got a chance to watch the replay so it kinda ruined it. However, watching F1 Debrief got me interested in watching the whole replay. I was hoping Vettel was going to mistake Hammy's car for Weber's and crash into him.
Hopefully Di Resta can get on a proper team soon...that Scot can drive.
Vettel busted his ryde during Friday morning rainy practice. Not in second practice session. Mechanics doing an all-nighter. I'm predicting Petrov or Rosberg.
At Churchill Downs, "stay THIRSTY, my frends."
By the way - there's now a pretty good torrent available of the new Senna documentary since Netflix did a one day only release of it earlier this week.
Some quite amazing footage.... damn that guy could drive.
thanks, pnwbrit. i checked the earlier ones but without subtitles it wasn't worth it.
red bull front wing conspiracy post- vettel's crash: http://mccabism.blogspot.com/2011/05...ng-cables.html
I had to dig around for an English subtitle pack but didn't take long and was easy to attach to movie.
There seems to be a director's commentary track on the file too but haven't had a chance to watch it again yet.
One amazing line of Senna's that I hadn't heard before - I think while talking about qualifying at Monaco '88 - something along the lines of "the intensity of that moment was so strong that I believe I left a piece of myself in the memory of it"
Another, maybe too, action packed race. Alonso was very impressive. Would probably have got 2nd without the fumbled last pit stop. Beginning to get embarrassed for Schumi.... I don't see him making it through the season at this rate. In a BBC interview after the race he said he was not enjoying racing. Di Resta to Mercedes?
Anyone else Watching Peter Windsor's VLOG? http://smibs.tv/the-flying-lap . Some really fascinating stuff for the F1 nerd.
I feel bad for him. Kubica could be a gallon into some sweet Polish potato vodka and still out-drive Petrov. Must be tough for him to watch.
He's a good young talent. Scots are still waiting for Jackie v2.0. Don't forget about 'ol Hulkenburg; those nazi's like their 'own' in their cars.
the nazis have rosberg :) give paul a chance, i say!
Don't forget the kamikaze panner Kobayashi. Driving the stink outta that Sauber.
Best battle yesterday was between Ham & Button; where's the love in that garage? Before long its going to be Ham & Alonso all over again.

Bruno Senna films himself with blackberry while driving Renault Lotus on demo runs at Spa.
Pretty cool.
Anyone have a good source for watching Monaco online?
I've been downloading torrents a few days after each race, but it would be great to watch live.
You could try this www.fromsportcom.com
Alonso/Ferrari had their 1st win in the bag, not too be due to a nice pile-up. Alonso would have won if not for the late red flag w/~12 to go. He was clearly going to pass Vettel (probably Button too) as he had good rubber (and Vettel had burned his set).
Monaco is the ultimate drivers course...which is why I can't figure how Button got on the podium.
How people love to bash Button. I don't understand why.
I watch a cubic fuck ton of racing and have never seen a race where, during a RED flag, not only the tires being changed but the cars actually being able to be worked on!! Hamilton's wing was fucked, most likely wouldn't have finished the race but the crew was able to fix it. Charlie Whiting has some explaining to do. Unless Prince Albert is the puppet master.
Vettel's success is totally fucking with Hammy's head. The attempted pass on Massa at Loews was never going to happen when fighting for position then squeezing him in the tunnel. He'll be in fourth place in the points after Canada, unless he rear ends another car trying to leave pit lane (a la Kimi)

Ham did put a sweet move on Schumi earlier in the race. By the time Ham got by the dirty German his race was over. Vettel et al were at least 10-15 seconds up the road. You the German enjoyed keeping Ham behind.
Hammy did put a sweet move on Pastor Maldonado...oh wait, he crashed into him as well. And then pulled out the race card. No Lewis, it's not because your are black, it's because you are a muppet.
And Hammy's race was over when he failed to qualify on pole.
Seriously? He didn't pull out the race card in any serious way. he was clearly enormously frustrated right after the race, when he gave the interview, and he made it clear that it was an Ali G reference there and then. I suppose some people might have found it in bad taste, but its not the end of the world for formula 1 driver to have a sense of humor :nonono2:
But you admit he pulled it out. Reference or not, he brought it up. He feels as though he is being unfairly scrutinized by the stewards based upon his recent on track mishaps and instead of keeping his mouth shut over circumstances in which he cannot change, he makes a race based remark. Poor judgment in a sport that relies on good judgment.
As I stated earlier, Vettel's success is getting to his head and it is starting to show, not only on track but off. Hence he is constantly having to apologize for his behavior.
hey, nitwits, what would you rather have -- a driver who speaks his mind, or a party-line tauting figurehead who only says the soundbites his sponsors want you to hear? i'll tell you which one is the muppet if you can't figure it out.
Nothing particularly amazing about the Hamilton move on Schumacher. He just had the inside line.
are you coulthard, mastodon? didn't think so. i'll stick with crazy dave's opinion:

you guys who say they should ban tire changes during red flags all need to realize that 99% of the time a red flag is caused by really wet weather, so the reason they can change tires is so they can put full wets on, or change to a fresh set of full wets like they did last time there was a red flag.
so they cant really ban tire changes during red flags, unless they say they cant change if its a dry race or something.
You are missing the point I was trying to make. I understand being allowed to switch to the monsoon tires during a red flag but the ability to allow the crews to work on the cars during the red flag was a very strange call and why allow the teams to put new tires on during a bone dry race with a handful of laps remaining?
way to go Hamilton, good job!
Bernie needs to invest in cloud seeding equipment. F1 is much more entertaining in the rain.
What a race! Button's drive was outstanding. Good to see Schumacher back to form, pity he couldn't hold on for a podium.
^ he is driving a dog! with the le mans and this race in the same weekend, i thorougly enjoyed being in europe to watch it all unimpeded by commercials. what a great racing weekend for the history books.
