Currently there is no wind outside. That is a bit unusually for TD ski hill condos (6700'). We usually get hammered by the wind during a storm. But there has been no significant wind since about 5pm. With no wind, it very peaceful outside in the falling snow.
....See you fuckers at Alpine tomorrow. Grey pants, orangeish jacket, G4s or Explosivs.
At Alpine...
I'll be in a blue jacket, black pants, grey helmet and Yellow AK rockets or if Summit is turning - Sanouks.
Chilly's check your email.
Curious: How come Alpine and not Squaw?

Faaaaaack....so I just came back from the wood, 4 days of my winter vacation wasted aparently.....fuckin the best conditions were thursday, when it was raining, those were the least icey, best surface conditions. yeah. didn't miss much guys. i'm crying to myself now. this pineapple express can suck my sorry ass. sorry for the pessimism, but seriously, this blows. I get a real job, and then the skiing screws me. guess that teaches me. anyways, hope everyone has an epic new years skiing new year, i'll be in SF, but I'll see you guys up ther MLK when I get my next few days off.......(since it was all gaper slolom this weekend)
I'll see you guys tomorrow, or tuesday at the latest. :)
powderhouse at dawn. i'll be wearing some pants and a jacket and i'll most likely have ski boots on. good chance i'll have some skiis too. noaa sensors show 8" already at alpine base (6,900') and it doesn't even look like the green blob has totally pushed over the crest yet.
though it probably won't even make it over and we'll all be fucked anyway.
Still stuck here in the East, but flying back tonight and can hopefully get up to the 'Weed mid-week...possibly Wednesday. Just checked the KW website audio report....Lookin good :)
6:30 in Truckee. Another 7" here since I swept the deck last night. Alpine reporting 12-15". Still snowing. FKNA!!!!
Time to get dressed, hit Wild Cherries and park where I want.
See you bitches!
Better still, NOAA -- without any economic incentive to distort -- is reporting 15" at Alpine Base as of 5am.Quote:

Accuweather's hour-by-hour forecast for Truckee is predicting precipitation through noon, then clouds with a little action. Tuesday night into Wednesday, more precipitation rolls in, along with winds.
This afternoon and tomorrow should be fantabulous. My kids will whine about Wednesday, but it'll be worth it.
Radar makes it look like its gonna be finishing soon.
  :fm: (cause if its stops it might stop the wind)
2 f'in Feet!! @ Kirkwood??? In literally a couple hours?
Talk about a whilrwind of weather in the last two weeks.
Geeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttt Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmm!
I'm stuck in Illinios for some family time with the inlaws...Shugs is planning to hijack a CalTrans truck to ride today, I'm crossing my fingers that he gets there.
Time to get dressed and go dig the car out. looks like a little over at foot on the stairs.
I like this statement.....Here is my JONG cut and paste from the special weather statement:
Quote:
ADDITIONAL PACIFIC STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO REACH THE SIERRA AND WESTERN NEVADA ON DECEMBER 30TH...AND JANUARY 2ND. LONG RANGE MODELS INDICATE THIS MOIST AND FAST MOVING PATTERN MAY NOT BREAK UNTIL AFTER THE FIRST WEEK OF JANUARY. EACH OF THESE STORMS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS AND STRONG WINDS.
