this one is off the three bears near fernie.
1500+. not sure of the angles, but it's steep. easy 3 hour approach from town to the bottom of the couloir.

This one is pretty classic. 20' wide, continuous 40-45º with a huckable ice flow for an exit.

The Blaze! Holds snow year round. Long slog in, we used horses to access it in the spring and summer. Good pitch but not real steep, can't remember but I think it's only like 40 degrees maybe less. I believe it is considered a glacier.Quote:

San Joaquin Chute... Classic! Unfortunately I was out of town for Andys memorial ski descent but I did ski K12 (Ophir to Telluride) last thursday and the corn was in perfect shape all the way to the bear creek boulder. Andy would have loved those buff conditions but coulda' handled crusty boilerplate on bump skis just as well!!! We'll miss you Andy!!
