Apologies for the anti-stoke, but Brian Williams is making me crazy.
I still can't get over the speed. I mean, the women's final was fast, but the final 10 men? After the Canuck in 13th went down in under 24 seconds, they went apeshit! The one guy from the States who bailed at the bottom didn't turn after the first jump. Frigging Supermen:yourock:
Most fun watching TV in forever, can hardly wait for the Downhills.

Cue the Australian media to buy into Begg-Smith's douchebaggery...

Fucking losers.Quote:

The Australians didn't agree. After reviewing the overall scoresheet Australia's performance director Geoff Lipshut felt the judges had been overly generous toward Bilodeau's turns on the bumps, which peaked at 4.8 and 4.9 points.
"My own opinion is that probably Alex is not capable of a 4.8 or a 4.9 (on his turns) ... because 5 is a perfect score," Lipshut said.
Steve Desovich, Begg-Smith's long-time coach and head of Australia's moguls team, also felt his charge had nailed a winning run but restrained himself from criticising the judges.
"Dale had the highest turn points and the highest air (tricks) points," Desovich said.
I think Williams is calling audibles left, right and center to keep this whole thing together. During the Bilodeau interview he was host, interviewer, director, producer and almost had to take over a camera. Sure he can get a little intense at times but he knows what works for an Olympic broadcast and right now he's worth every penny CTV is paying him. JMO...
Pulverschwein must be stoked to have had tickets for the men's moguls.
Went to the village in the evening - it looks really good. Lots of happy people. Good family type of atmosphere. Cops kind of lost in the crowd.

What a great finish to mens moguls. Bilodeau was so great and it was amazing to see him bring home gold at home. What a great guy.
Can't believe that Colas (who went last and posted the best time) got 6th though. I was expecting him to take second, third, even fourth, but 6th for that guy? Didn't seem right to me.
Wilson's back double was great and I'm glad that he got a medal. Ausie guy seems like a douche.
And the Australian media redeems itself

Ridiculous!
One of the best experiences of my life...
I can't see why the aussies are bitching, If anyone should bitch its Wilson... or maybe Colas who was insanely fast. I'm pretty sure somebody will take a page out of tanya harding's playbook one of these days. The guy is the epitome of douchebaggery...
haha you got that right brother. We partied hard last night! I was running on two hours of sleep today and it was fucking stupendous! It was hilarious too, first round was 4 beers each for the four of us. Then we scored a good spot in the general admission area and took turns hitting the beer line. The girls working the beer booth, they laughed every time we ordered 8 beers each! 3x $112 rounds!! hahahah woooooooohoooooooo!!!!
And Bilodeau KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeeeeeee fucking haw Canada, more cowbell!!!!!!!!!!

Where are they doing the medal ceremonies in Whistler?
The Canadians that posted on the blogs, wiki, etc... calling Dale a traitor and the like, is pretty classless. :nonono2:
Let's be gracious winners and let the actions of others speak for themselves...(speaking generally to Canadians, I know he TGR crowd is special and these suggestions are a blasphemy worthy of a stern and serious flaming )
Honestly, watching the replays of the runs, I thought that Dale did have slightly better turns, I thought that Alexandre's airs were better, and obviously Alexandre's time was blazing. I agree that it goes to Alexandre, but it was a very close second for Dale.
I also agree that Colas should have placed top three. That run was on the ragged edge, speed was lightening, but had a couple of dirty turns and missed a grab. I put him in third, not sixth...
All IMHO, of course.
[/Monday Armchair Officiating]
It seems like the Aussie's don't really like him either.
http://www.smh.com.au/sport/winter-o...0215-o2zy.html
The traitor stuff is pretty classless but god the guy just does himself no favours. He looked like such a petulant douche standing there in second place. His refusal (and lying) about his willingness to speak to Canadian press didn't help and of course his spam business doesn't exactly raise my opinion of him. Nor does removing reference to his spam business from Wikipedia.
There seriously is something off with him and his lack of emotion and I have to admit I was rooting against him as much as rooting for Canadians last night. I don't doubt his personality was a big part why Canadian sport officials blew him off.
On a more positive note, I loved the stoke that the 2 American bronze medal winners showed on the podium. Mr. Begg-Smith could take a cue from Bryon Wilson and Shannon Bahrke. An olympic medal means something even if it's not gold.
Agreed that calling Begg-Smith names was pretty classless, to my knowledge I don't think he ever bashed Canada or any of our athletes. Also, I kind of like his stone cold demeanour, he looked so chilled sitting on that big puffy chair after Bilodeau had his final run and the crowd was erupting with cheers and applause (the replay can be seen on ctv.ca). One could argue that he took his 2nd place finish with grace and humility, rather then dancing around like a fool, or looking all pissed off like a sore looser.
^ one could say that, but IMO pouty manning face in every photo =/= grace and humility
:)
makes him a gamer though, real gamers hate losing more than anything, so I can't blame him.
butttflake is nothing but a troll. I think he must be Australian with that kind of sour attitude. Oh wait....that's that other guy.
So what the hell is happening, that we are obviously not hearing about down here.......vandalism?? At least we don't have crazy fuckers attacking and killing coaches yet.
Gretzky riding a lawnmower would be more class that 99% of the douche nozzles on this forum riding in a MB or Lambo or what ever you want to bring.
Sure it was a little weird. Thank God for some of the Weirdness. After the complete conformity of Beijing, it's nice to see something a little different. He did make a funny face when the one pillar didn't go up.
I did notice that myself. Some quite nice ones too.
So let me get this straight - beers are $14 each at the venue???
Holy shitballs Batman. I looked it up and there is almost a straight up exchange rate. Damn. Did I miss something? And I thought beer at the mountain here for $4 a draft was expensive.
BTW Congrats to all Canadians for pulling this off. Everything seems to be going off nicely. Awesome stoke for Vancouver in spite of and irregardless of the weather.
Keep it up you crazy Canucks. And way to kick ass in the bumps.
