So I put my beloved Taco on CL and some dude came by to check it out, liked it and left a $1k deposit and will pick it up Friday.
Now I can't find the fucking title. Do I need to apply for a new one and wait for that to arrive or is there some way I can transfer it w/o the title?

Yes: I believe you have to apply for a new title from your DMV. Check online: you might be able to get it relatively quickly at the DMV.Quote:

Well in my state- I regularly drop off my license/registration whatever at the reps office. They send it off to their capital office and take it to the department needed, 1 day turn around usually and they have it back on day 3 (with a phone call to come and get it) or maybe 1 or 2 longer if there is a day the local rep's office is closed during the week.Quote:
