Job/Insurance change and pre-existing injury?

I recently switched jobs and also insurance. I injured my knee last December mountain biking (not enough to stop me from riding/skiing) that hasn't fully healed. I went to a doc a couple of months ago (under my old insurance) and was MRI'd. MRI results say I have a torn meniscus. I got a second opinion and that doc told me to wait a while before jumping into getting scoped (there are other things in the MRI that indicated some bone injury as well).

My question is, with the job/insurance change, am I covered under my new insurance for an injury that occurred under a my old plan?

As long as your new insurance is through your new employer then it will be covered. Group health care plans through businesses aren't allowed to exclude preexisting conditions.

Group plans most certainly can (and do) exclude preexisting conditions - but only if you had a lapse of coverage in there of more than 63 days. They will probably check but you should be good-to-go unless you rolled a 90 day waiting period with no interim coverage at your new job.
