I like that they're using ski racing shots on the screen in the promo materials.
Daddy likes. I was just wondering about this body as I'm gonna be looking for a sealed camera pretty soon.
MSRP of $4000 apparently.
I might have to say goodbye to the nikon mount for that one...
frankly i miss the solid feeling of my EOS-3 + PB-E2... felt so much more substantial than a dinky little 20D... otoh 20D is much nicer to hike with.
c'mon 40D with 7FPS...
Canon is upping the ante with the MkIII. If the rest of their product line follows suit, you just might get your wish.
I had a 10D back in the day;) and I always liked the feel. But for the last 6 months I have had a Nikon D200. The other day I picked up my friend's 30D and it just felt dead compared to the D200. I think Canon has blown away any notion I had of staying with Nikon though. I like long exposures too much and I avoid using a flash if at all possible. iso6400:eek: !!!
screw buying a new body, my 20D suffices just fine.
my wish list right now is the 16-35 f/2.8L, 35mm f/1.4L and maybe an 85mm, don't know which flavor yet, though.
i did a portrait shoot last weekend with my camera and a relative's lenses (of which the 16-35mm and 35mm are included), and you can definitely notice the difference between those and my 70-200mm f/4.0L - all L glass, but still a noticeable difference.
a tilt shift would be nice too.
damn. now i'm sad.
why buy a 16-35 2.8 L for the 20D when you can get a 17-55 2.8 IS for about the same price? I'll sell you my 17-35mm L 2.8 USM if you want now that I have a 17-55
buy a lensbaby for a TS... cheap http://www.lensbabies.com/
now a 1DsMark III would be nice. nice and 'spensive.
seconded on the 40D w/ 7fps being very money.
thanks for linking that TS, never seen those before.
and as for the 17-35, i'm on a shoestring budget, so unless you're willing to let it go for a ridiculously low price, well...let me know.
edit: i will admit however after looking at the MTF charts for both the 16-35 and 17-55 EF-S, the 17-55 has very good numbers when it's wide open.
just to clarify, a lensbaby is not a replacement for a tilt/shift... it's a different beast with a different purpose... i can see how their purposes could overlap for certain applications, but for others it would not work well at all... just something to keep in mind... it's definitely a fun lens but shouldn't be considered a cheaper replacement for a dedicated TS...
