I had a 10D back in the day;) and I always liked the feel. But for the last 6 months I have had a Nikon D200. The other day I picked up my friend's 30D and it just felt dead compared to the D200. i did a portrait shoot last weekend with my camera and a relative's lenses (of which the 16-35mm and 35mm are included), and you can definitely notice the difference between those and my 70-200mm f/4.0L - all L glass, but still a noticeable difference.
a tilt shift would be nice too.

edit: i will admit however after looking at the MTF charts for both the 16-35 and 17-55 EF-S, the 17-55 has very good numbers when it's wide open.
just to clarify, a lensbaby is not a replacement for a tilt/shift... it's a different beast with a different purpose... i can see how their purposes could overlap for certain applications, but for others it would not work well at all... just something to keep in mind... it's definitely a fun lens but shouldn't be considered a cheaper replacement for a dedicated TS...Quote:
