Loveland Pass
SheRa, Summit, the Gosey
SheRa called me at some ungodly hour this morning. It was dark when we started. We were at the top of the pass well before 7AM.

SheRa converses with CDOT
It was cold, snowing, and blowing.

It had snowed quite a bit:

We measured 9" pretty consistently except where the wind had stripped it. Where the wind had dropped the snow, it was considerably deeper:

As we got down to the road, it returned to about 7-8" in the lower trees... we skied slowly and could tell where the other was by thhe scraping noises. It is a lot of snow... but on a base of nil it is sketch skiing:

Early season inevitability
After two runs, Shera had to go to school.
Shera has claim to the first run down Loveland Pass this season.
After Shera left, Max Gosey showed up. After hitting him with a few doses of elephant tranquilizer to ensure he didn't get too agro in the early conditions, we were off. ;)
