A friend of mine said it does if your phone is GSM, but you have to call your provider beforehand and let them know you're going. Not sure about the cost.

Get your phone unlocked or buy a cheapo unlocked 4band and buy a local prepaid SIM = mucho cheaper for anyreasonable use. Also offers more reliable service.Quote:

I've had problems with Cingular/At&T text and voice messages down there before. messages duplicated together with charges :cussing:
It always seemed to be pot luck which provider's signal you'd get even in the same location which may have had something to do with it.
