Can someone in the know tell us if there are going to be restrictions on hikers tomorrow? The resort was open today, closes for the next three days, then re-opens for Fri,Sat,Sun for those that don't know.

I sincerely hope you are planning on snowboarding! That is what I do at Alta...seems only fitting.
Screw that, let's go to Red Baldy, and ski something we won't be skiing for the next two months.

Indeed. I think we should seriously plan that. Bring headlamps for the exit, ski it at sunset, with the full red glow. I'll be over on Lake Peak, filming you folks skiing it.Quote:

Go somewhere you haven't been.
Just a thought.

It was good yesterday.
I'm in for a Sunset tour Tuesday. Maybe. If I don't wear myself out at the Bird in the morning.
Alta wasn't good today, seriously. By 3 PM, there was only 6" on top of ice, and it wasn't a creamy windblown 6". Needs more snow overnight, and hopefully this storm will deliver.
I told ya so!
I like Powstash's thinking. Aim high, if the weather doesn't cooperate, oh well. Better than planning a trip to skip meadows right outta the gait. You can always revert to meadow skipping if the weather is fowl in White Pine.Quote:
