Uphill Traffic at Alta tomorrow (4/18)?

Can someone in the know tell us if there are going to be restrictions on hikers tomorrow? The resort was open today, closes for the next three days, then re-opens for Fri,Sat,Sun for those that don't know.

I sincerely hope you are planning on snowboarding! That is what I do at Alta...seems only fitting.

Screw that, let's go to Red Baldy, and ski something we won't be skiing for the next two months.

I haven't paid attention to snow totals, but I was checking out Red Baldy from the top of Scotty's, and it looks goooooooood. All filled in nice.

If not tomorrow, then friday for sure. Big mellow run with no one around. Versus the Alta shit show.

Indeed. I think we should seriously plan that. Bring headlamps for the exit, ski it at sunset, with the full red glow. I'll be over on Lake Peak, filming you folks skiing it.

Obivously I thought of that, but this is so much more social. See what a nice conversation we're all having?

Visibility is not guaranteed tomorrow, sunset Red Baldy would be tits though. I think I'll have to wait a while longer before I decide what the best place to ski tomorrow will be...

You know the routine, it's gonna be bluebird. I can here the birds chirping now.

Alta is limited creativity skiing this time of year. You ski there preseason, regular, and post season. Why go there tomorrow?

    Go somewhere you haven't been.

    Just a thought.

    AM? Call me tonight.

If the weather looks like it will clear, I'll climb Lake Peak and film you skiing the Red. Maybe Grizz will join us.

I'm in for a Sunset tour Tuesday. Maybe. If I don't wear myself out at the Bird in the morning.

Alta wasn't good today, seriously. By 3 PM, there was only 6" on top of ice, and it wasn't a creamy windblown 6". Needs more snow overnight, and hopefully this storm will deliver.

I like Powstash's thinking. Aim high, if the weather doesn't cooperate, oh well. Better than planning a trip to skip meadows right outta the gait. You can always revert to meadow skipping if the weather is fowl in White Pine.
