I went running a couple days ago in Briones(benchmark trail), it was pretty sloppy and un-rideable still. Not sure how far a drive for you, but i was in Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland and rode Cinderella trail, to some other long named trail. It was wet, but tacky and nearly perfect. You'd probably want to shuttle, the ride up is kinda brutal for the short ride down. Also Rockville Park in Fairfield drains easily and stays pretty dry. Hope that helps!Quote:

Agreed that Cinderella is too short to shuttle, but we connected to some other trail...Via Los Colorados, something like that...it took us basically to the frontage street by Highway 13.Quote:

I'm in Starbucks in Tracy (Livermore?) waiting for 10:00 to roll around to find out if the SFO Corral Hollow race is canceled. It rained like crazy all night and seems pretty swampy. Ever since I moved to CA I've been shut down from riding at least once a weekend. I hope we get to ride, but my expectations aren't very high at this point.

WSD, where do you get your bike serviced? My DIY repairs aren't cutting it and my dodgy repair of the derraileur-through-the-spokes incident left my ride, well, unrideable.
The gnar-mud ended up turning in to happy tacky dirt. The course was fun and fast, but the race was pretty disorganized. I only got a few practice runs in, and felt like I was totally winging it on my race run.
I felt good on my race run, though I know a made a few mistakes. The bike is so fast. I can't wait to get it all dialed.
I'm pretty sure I got 2nd. I was done racing just after 1, and they didn't post anyone's results until 6. It was a mob scene and I had a 6 hour drive ahead of me. It looked like I got 2nd, but everyone was moving around.
Anyway, it was cool to get my first expert race out of the way and get some of the early-season kinks out. Next week, Sea Otter!

Are the prices listed on biker-rx.com typical in your area? They seem very different than what we have.
Our basic tune up is only 49.99 and includes wheel truing. At the same time, we would probably charge closer to 25 for a full cable and housing replacement?
to be honest, i am not really sure. i haven't paid "retail" for anything bike related (bikes, parts, gear, tune-ups, etc) in over a decade....Quote:

If anyone is still looking for a good shop in SF...check out Vision Cycles on Stanyan. That was my spot when I lived in the city. Charlie (owner) is a good guy an a great mechanic.
