....but life goes on....and life last weekend included a trip to our nation's least populated state.
Dates: March 16th-19th
Location: Jackson Hole, Whyohmin' (Just south of Montanur')
Players: 666, Mrs. 666, and Mrs. 666's family from Chitown (brother, sister-in-law, 3 nieces, tons of princess dvd's, and of course, Grand Master Father of Mrs. 666.)
Gameplan: To ski some BC gnar with Sven (our local guide that originates from Los Gatos, uh...that's wierd), and spend some quality time on the slopes with our 4 year old twin nieces, and the rest of the family of course.
Synopsis: Der sum guud eatin' up there en Jackson Hole. As far as the skiing is concerned, flat-light and fog engulfed the top of the mountain for most of the 4 day trip. Glimpses of hope shimmered on the lower slopes but failed to give the upper mountain a much needed break from the fog. It snowed about 15 inches the night before we arrived, so we knew we'd GET SUM in the BC. The next few days gave us a licking of a few inches each night, cloud cover, and some more substantial snow on the last day of riding.
Music: Ed Rush & Optical - 'Glass Eye'
Day 1: Sven & 666 go to Four Pines BC to score some cold smoke:
After 20 minutes of back and forth debate of the last lap being between Cody and Horseshoe, with dinner reservations at SEVEN, Sven, Friends, and I decide to roll into Horseshoe chute into Granite to get the most in the least amount of time...
The air in the middle is at the highest probably around 11 feet, and at its lowest around 5.2 feet...just in case any of you want to give it a go...it comes highly recommended.
A quick jaunt to 7 Dwarfs, then to ABC chutes in Granite...Sven and I arrive out of Granite Canyon at 6:05 pm....better get ready because dinner is in town tonight!
Old Yellowstone Garage...you know its good when they have signs like that. Sorry Greydon, I got the Veal...
DAY 3: About 3.1 inches of new, we roll groomers with the Fam, and meet up with some old friends.
That's right, its M Tierney - the creator of every Igneous ski that carried graphics....and his father who just arrived. It was great to catch up with both of them...and honestly made the trip.
Nothing exciting went down this day, so we're off to dinner...Sssssssssnake River Grill anyone? Bottom line - get the onion rings. Greydon, you should be aware that I had the Pork this evening.
Day 4: We have time for only a couple runs and one BC outing before we have to get on our "cancelled" flight. We also learn to get really good at manually ejecting the lens of the camera.
Sven and I sat on top of the ridge waiting for our bluebird chance to roll into Central Couloir...20 minutes later, we bagged it and went down into a completely filled in Spacewalk chute...er Cakewalk.
To end the trip, we had a cancelled flight out of Jackson, rented a Tundra to drive to Idaho Falls, to then fly to Salt Lake, to then fly to SF. Arrive at apartment at 12:00 am.
Oh, and to compare, here's last year's trip with our same guide, Sven:
The air in the middle is at the highest probably around 11 feet, and at its lowest around 5.2 feet...just in case any of you want to give it a go...it comes highly recommended.

Thank you for that. Seriously.
And if you haven't tried it, I highly recommend the Cadillac Grill next to the Cowboy Bar for some good eats. Sounds like you guys ate well enough though. :fm:
