PSA: don't overshoot the LZ
Yea, so not to state the obvious, but really think twice about "hitting it with just a little more speed". :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:
I decided to take "a little more speed" into this kicker I hit 10 or so times earlier in the day (it was a "park day"), which led me to completely overshoot the LZ by 15-20 ft. Tried to ski it out, but caught an edge at speed, crucially torquing my right knee. (xrays are negative on right shin, so I guess that's a good start).
The ER completely wasted my time ("uhhh...so it's not broken"), aside from injecting my ass with some crucial painkiller, giving me crutches, a knee immobilizer, along with a prescription to some painkillers. So now it's wait time 'till the ortho.
Of all the gimp allstars out here, can somebody tell me what torn ligaments feel like? I can barely place any pressure on my right leg, but the fact that I can gives me hope that it's only some sort of a strain, as opposed to a tearing of any C's or L's. The pain has marginally subsided in the past 2 days (this happened wednesday night), which seems promising. My skiing plans for spring break are obviously shot, but hopefully not the season. Let me know if this sounds like a tear, or whether I should just stop being a pussy and man up.
