Has anyone been up or around Wheeler Peak, NV in the winter? Does anyone know what kind of snow has fallen in the area so far this year, or if there are any observation stations I can check? I would have run a TGR search but I'm at the parents house for T-Day and well, dial up dial up dial up:rolleyes:....

There is/was a thread on this here last year, so when you get to a faster connection, search on it.
But also look at Telemark Tips, there were several threads w/ pics on Wheeler Peak.
I've only hiked it in summer.

We had a fairly miserable year this year snow-wise. The skiing was reasonable a couple of months ago... I'll check with a friend of mine (dhm over on Telemark Tips) to see what he knows about current conditions. drove by it monday and there is no snow that i could see. maybe a small patch on the "glacier" but that was hidden from my site.

Sorry, wish it were better news but we had a miserable winter and have been absolutely hammered temperature-wise for the last month.
