Climbed the north facing Olympus slabs with Powstash today.

The face is 'skiable'. But it is a once every five years kind of thing. If it's in shape, it'll get done.

(and hoping the rock will still be dry in Wales next month.)

Funny, I seem to remember using rope on two of the 12 or so pitches going up that thing...and being very happy to have it... :eek:

Yeah, that's what I thought. He wasn't psyched on the last 10ft of downclimbing. He just stepped up to the edge and said "I'm hucking off here". I got the camera out just in time.

Funny cause that's what Trackhead said about the climbing. It was pretty rare to be climbing along, just chatting and commenting on the rock and the holds when you're used to sitting at a belay station wondering what's taking so long and not being able to chat with your climbing partner. This type of climbing was really enjoyable.

Nice TR. Done it many times, but I usually simul-climb. You guys definitely have more confidence than I, not even wearing harnesses to use in an emergency. Is that belay station dropping down to the saddle? I can't imagine my webbing has faded to that color.

I would love to lay tracks down it in the right conditions, which are pretty hard to come by with these warm winters.

I swear I saw tracks down it last winter. It seemed like there were at least a few days where it was good to go.
