Patrol hooked me up with a ticket again and a guided tour down the main chute of Baldy. This was such nice skiing that I hiked it twice more despite coughing and wheezing all the way up. Just when the snow started to get really sticky I arrived at the top of Supreme in time for a barbeque and kite flying.
After saying goodbye to patrol in the "polar bar" I headed back down the canyon and managed to find my way to Yetiman's house.
Friday I drove up to Solitude through heavy rain. Unfortunately the rain continued right to the base area. Where was the light, dry Utah powder?
I met up with Yeti for a few runs. His Spatulas looked like a good choice for the very heavy snow. I headed inside to get dry and the snow kept falling while the temperature dropped. The colder snow meant I could slide and the tree skiing in the afternoon was some of the best of the season for me :D . I've always had a dream/fantasy to ski powder through silver birch (having seen photos of Japan.) Friday I got to ski powder through Aspens, while big, fluffy snowflakes fell. SWEET!
All too soon it was over and the sky cleared for the last run the mountain. After saying goodbye to patrol and the cutest fluff-ball puppy I headed back to Yeti's house.
