Big surf in NorCal Wed, 3/9
Big f*#%$ing waves expected tomorrow. I'm so bummed I have to be in the city at 9 am. :mad: (just to clarify lest there be any confusion, I would not be riding said big waves, but rather watching. I'll stick with the 3 footers :) )

The Mavericks Contest may be history but that doesn’t mean Mavericks stops breaking. For the past week we have been watching one of this year’s biggest swells coming together. The outer
Buoys are the biggest we’ve seen in the past five years or so. And the
entire coast of California is on a high surf advisory for the
next three days.
At last check the Southeast Papa Buoy reached
30 ft swells at 20-second intervals. Basically when this swell
hits Mavericks the waves will be double that size. As we speak crews are
on their way out to Cortes Bank the worlds newest Big Wave Surf Spot
located one hundred miles west of San Diego. Also guys are gearing up
and heading out to Todo Santos Island another well-known Big Wave
spot just south of Ensenada Mexico. The first giant sets should
start rolling in at day break Wednesday morning. We installed a new cam
so keep an eye on it early. Peter Mel, Skindog and few other main
players are heading back from Hawaii to join the rest of the Mavs crew.
They will be ready to Tow Mav’s in the morning. Should be a great show!
